More Dinorwic.. Snowdonia sits just in the background. Working here must of been something else, there's an on site infirmary.
There is a visitor center undergoing huge restoration at the moment well worth a visit if your in llanberis. by @grensons_adventures

Hidden in plain sight is Dinorwic Quarry.. These cottages were used by workers who traveled from further afield for work places like Anglesey.

The barracks were particularly cold during the winter months as the gaps between the slates meant the quarrymen had little protection against the elements. The men also had to share their home with pests like fleas and rats.

On Monday mornings, some men returned to barracks with their own blankets. They would air their beds by laying the bedding out with a hot brick placed underneath.

Around 1500 men died working in the quarry and life expectancy was 30-40.

Took us a while to find these after several trips to the huge site 😎 taken in Dinorwic Quarry by @grensons_adventures

A late last minute trip to Wales.. I'm forever grateful ive found people who love to get out there and do things most would say not a prayer 🙏... Rain, hail, sun, soaked all the way home.. School boy error no spare clothing. But a cracking afternoon of photography with @adamtams_ and some lovely light for a few seconds on the lone tree of llanberis we got a decent shot ❤️. Luds church and the roaches loop.. More moody weather, and a soggy sandwich in the rain.. Autumn is coming.. And I don't like it 😂...still good to get out on a solo wander, I'm more a people person but sometimes I love being alone and going at my own pace... Meet the Mouse family woodmice I think living under a bridge at Knypersley Reservoir 🐭.. Sat for a good half hour before they came out, after seeing something move in the stones.. Great to see a family in the wild.. Next time I'll take 🧀 taken in Knypersley Reservoir by @grensons_adventures
