Apparently I couldn’t actually go a full day without knitting so after canning apples all day I stayed up until midnight making this pretty cowl. Pattern is Wild Grown Cowl by @bamsyarnstudio and it’s so fabulous. Yarn is @malabrigoyarn Rasta in Pagoda.

A change from my usual knitting posts to show you exactly why I haven’t knit at all yet today. My apple tree was generous this year so I’ve started canning pie filling for the holidays and winter. It’s so good!

Just trying to enjoy some outside time as autumn begins. The season is so short here in MN so you have to enjoy it while you can. This Mirror Pond ear warmer will be in my shop later tonight. It reminds me of the New York Islanders even though it isn’t quite their colors.

Cool mornings. Damp sidewalks. Gray skies.
That first little hint that summer is slipping away.

This is exactly the kind of weather I imagine when I’m knitting these cowls. Merino wool knit into patterns that feel a little like finding something magical outside — stained glass, foxes, owls, cats, leaves and other little bits of autumn and winter.

Made for tucking into when the morning is chilly and the sky is doing its very best impression of Minnesota gray.

Me: I am NEVER making these mitts again, those tiny cables almost snapped my bamboo needles.

Also me, three months later: Ooh, I should make those mitts again, they’re really fun and I love the cables…

The cable panel in the middle really calls to me… and also it’s a lot of tiny cable work.

But they sell every single time I make them, so apparently I have learned nothing.

A little bit of midnight, a little bit of winter sky. 💙❄️

This hat is full of my favorite colors with its deep dark blue, icy blue and some lavender. Finished with a fluffy faux-fur pom for the perfect finishing touch.

Here is the #loonlakecowl with its matching hat. This is a soon to be released new pattern from Jamie @northroadknits and should become available later this week.

I find many of the patterns from her shop to just be extra squishy and cozy for some reason and this set is no different. Now I just need to figure out if that hat should get a Pom or not 🤔

I just wrapped up this hat test for @northroadknits it’s the #loonlakehat and it’s coming soon!

The fit is fabulous, it’s super comfortable and cozy. It’s also a fast knit so great for last minute gift giving or market tables.

I needed a small project this morning and had the perfect colors for this Mirror Pond headband. I think green is vastly underrepresented in super bulky yarns, so here is my green and natural headband. This is perfect for those upcoming football games where it’s a little chilly in the evening. Who has green and white for their school colors?
