I built this plugin for myself to assist up my own mixing and mastering workflow and also because i have an unhealthy addiction to visual aids. After sharing it, the feedback was so positive that I decided to release it.

The beta is out now as version 1.0.0, even though it’s already been through 39 builds. Grab it via the link in my bio.

A clipper is something I’ve had in my arsenal since the legend @resorobotsick put me on to @sir_audio_tools Standard Clip years ago.

In my sector of the music industry it is a very essential tool for me to deliver clean yet loud music to my clients.

I’m sharing this to help others look into the many benefits clipping, whether it’s the use of it before a limiter in your self masters or using it to control levels in your mix to deliver a premaster with more potential.

Disclaimer: You must be able to hear what the clipper is doing to make positive influences to your mix. Always A/B with clipper on and off. Compare, if it doesn’t sound transparent you’ve likely gone too far. by @greymastering

I like to think of mono and side information as three worlds. I hope these tips help, I recommend everyone to start separating these worlds when trying to make them live together or figuring what your problem is. by @greymastering

I master a lot of low-end heavy music and that’s exactly where most limiters fall apart. The sub collapses, the transients flatten, and the whole thing turns to mush the moment you push for loudness.

The AL‑1 by @naturl.audio doesn’t. In my workflow it’s out-performed every competitor I’ve thrown it against — the low end stays tight and present, the transients keep their snap, and it still gets genuinely loud. No brickwall clipping, no look-ahead smearing. Just clean, musical peak reduction that’s honest to the source.

In an endlessly saturated plugin market, that’s rare. It’s earned a permanent place in my toolset — it’s in 99% of my workflows now.
