When Failure Feels Final (Part 2)

In Part 1, we sat with the weight of the experience - the disappointment, the silence, the questions that come when things don’t go as planned.
But the story doesn’t end there.

In Part 2, we explore what came after,
The perspective that formed over time,
The lessons that slowly took shape,
And the realization that one moment does not get to define an entire journey,
Sometimes what feels like the end of the story…
is actually the beginning of understanding it differently.

If you’re in medical training and navigating a difficult season, this conversation is for you.

If you haven’t listened to Part 1 yet, start there — then come back to this.

A Letter to YPB’26 Fellows

Just a month ago we were participants and now we are fellows.

But the real question is: now that the thrill is gone, are you still doing what you promised yourself after YPB, or have you moved on?

I made a Medium post on some of my reflections from camp and what I am committing to do for the rest of 2026. Some of which I’ve already begun.

When God spoke to Abraham and told him to go to a land he will show him. Abraham wasn’t exactly sure where he was headed, all he knew was that he heard God, so he moved.

I’m certain that at every point, he asked God: “are we stopping here? are we moving forward? are we taking a step back? are we turning left?” He had to rely solely on the instructions God gave him at every step of the way.

In today’s context, it’s like God telling you to leave your house, maybe in Lagos and just keep moving then when you get to Ibadan, you’d ask if you should stop, same thing when you get to Ilorin and so on.

A journey of faith is one filled with so much uncertainty and sometimes, faith is not leaning on your own understanding, because you believe or you’ve heard that land might be fertile but asking God for his will and direction.

But what makes a journey of faith reassuring is knowing that you are led by God in all of it.

I don’t think we would ever get to a point where we have it all figured out. But once you have a word from God, move and trust him, each and every step of the way.

So when it feels like your way is so uncertain, its not necessarily a sign that God isn’t with you, in fact it might just be a sign that God is and he is working in the silence, working in the uncertainty and in time everything will align.

Stay blessed.
