Well, another BuRn in the books.
It was a different but much needed experience Our small but mighty crew expanded. @_dr.gold and I brought with us @arodier43 @paulinarodier and @rossi.af

Growing up I always loved showing people the world I see. From concerts, raves and now Burning Man. It’s really just a window into what lights up my soul.

This year instead of chasing DJs from one stage to the next. we really let the playa show us what we needed to see.

I got to DJ one afternoon at Suspended Animation thanks to @authenticity.wav. (Mix will be released)

I was the Audio Tech for the Pink Mammoth camp for a day. I drove, I built, and I participated in the organism.

I can’t wait until next year with the hopes of growing our camp, DJing some more art cars/stages and seeing everyone again out on the Playa.

It was a long time coming but I finally made it to Burning Man.

It’s cliche to say that “there’s nothing like it” but really there isn’t.

Thanks to @_dr.gold I had the privilege to be part of a small camp called Emergence where we make Black Rock City IDs (swipe to see ID). My role in the camp was to build 3 domes and DJ a couple sets during the hours of operation during the day. This gave me time to explore in the afternoon/evening. I even got to DJ at another camp thanks to @buckleuphuntsman

As someone that works in the music industry I really tried to see the artists that I’ve always wanted to see on the playa but it really is analysis paralysis. So you really have to just live in the moment and the saying is “the playa will provide”.

One evening @_dr.gold and I were bouncing around from art cart to art cart on our bikes. Stop and paused to watch the drone show that was happening and be informed that Skrillex was playing that the Eye in deep playa.

@_dr.gold and I both like to chase rumors (which is half the fun on the playa) so we made the trek out on our bikes to deep playa. Only to run into @thorgodofbass who informed me that @griz will be playing. It’s those moments that make you laugh.Griz starts to play and it’s maybe only a couple thousand people enjoying this artist that could fill up a stadium.

This is just a small taste of what can happen when you let go of plans/ schedules. The people you run into are fleeting but sometimes you run into them again because your tapped into the same frequency chasing that particular vibe. @mikeymade @robotsunrise @funkwizard333 @devin_constant @guy_azoulay_

Another beautiful thing is that within our camp people had different plans and to hear everyone’s stories from the night before gave you this sense that there is endless possibilities on the playa and it’s possible to even get FOMO out there hahaha

It was just incredible and I can’t wait to do it again next year.

Love pushing myself
Yesterday at @hermosasoundlab I was trusted by @iammatthewgrant to track some songs.
The band utilized our 1000sqft live room. Complete with full drum kit, piano, organ, guitar, bass, lead Vocals and 3 BGV

When I first moved back to LA I had a weekly gig at @blackrabbitrose and Matthew’s band was the resident performer for that evening.

It was a full circle moment to have him be my first BIG project at the studio.

Thanks again for trusting me in your creative process. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds for you brother.

Got to run around and run sound in the forest.
I had a blast mixing my first Spring Badfish Festival @badfishsublimetribute

I can’t wait to get back on the road with the band in July!!

Some fun moments on the west coast run with @badfishsublimetribute
From VIP treatment in the van to @ziggygnardust shredding the streets of SF. Never a dull moment with this band.

I got to mix at 2 venues that I’ve always wanted. The Belly Up, because I lived in San Diego for 13 years during my 20’s and always wanted to work there.

The House of Blues in Anaheim. Although it wasn’t the same location from downtown Disney. It’s still felt like the venue I went to see punk rock and metal shows growing up in LA.

Thanks for making that run memorable.

Safe to say that I miss the road already. Life is simple and I just enjoy the flow of it. The joke was “well it’s groundhogs day….. again.” The laughs just kept coming that vibe was high until the last show.

After 5 weeks it was weird getting a ride by yourself to the airport. To go out into the world alone again. At this point I’m counting down until I’m back out there.

Here’s to the memories. I’m excited to see what the future holds for everyone.

Houston-Dallas-Tulsa-St.Louis-Fort Wayne-Grand Rapids

I just keep smiling when I walk in and the room is bigger than the last. Mixing on these systems are pinch me moments.

2 more weeks left on the tour. We start back up in Boston by @grid_music
