Fresh DFH (Digis from Home 🤭)

I’ve learnt to love digitals (or Polaroids or snaps, as they are called in the modelling world) because they are honest. They are true.

In a world where so many women would NEVER step out of the house with a bare face, let alone think to share a photo of themselves makeup-free online (and don’t even get me started on endless semi-permanent makeup, filters and AI), sharing snaps can feel plain scary. And it did scare me. But it is also infinitely freeing.

I know makeup and fashion are extensions of oneself, and a form of self-expression. But sometimes, there’s just something so beautiful about stripping away all of that, and going back to basics. No makeup to hide or change your natural features, no crazy, colourful clothes to distract. Just pure 100% you, the way God made you. And you were wonderfully made 💖

And thats why the seemingly “humble” digital will always be a mainstay in the modelling world. And to be honest, I think everyone, not just models, should take and share some with the world✨ taken in London, United Kingdom by @griddyy

She’s no longer a microneedling virgin! 💁🏻‍♀️

I tried SkinPen microneedling for the very first time with @dr.laurageige at @itsmeandyouclinics, and here’s my unfiltered (pun fully intended) opinion and review.

✨ Great if you want to stimulate collagen and treat your skin texture, without using injectables (eg. polynucleotides) or ablative lasers (which can pose hyperpigmentation risks).

SkinPen is the world’s first (and one of the few) FDA-approved microneedling devices and is considered the gold standard for safety, precision and clinical results. Make sure you do your research and ask for the name of the device, as many aestheticians and clinics offer microneedling treatments but often their devices are not medical-grade.

💊 Pain level: 4/10 (the forehead and temple areas stung the most for me, every other part was fine).

What I would say here is that it’s so important to get the right practitioner - @dr.laurageige was so kind, patient and professional throughout the entire process. She definitely made it a lot more bearable for me (a scaredy-cat with a low pain threshold 😹

✅ Patience is key, as you will go through up to a week (or more) when your skin feels ‘sunburnt’, and starts to flake and peel. The right aftercare is essential as part of the healing process!
