Grief Scene absolutely crushing it last night, July 4th, 2026, at some secret place up in Pankow. So steamy, my lens kept fogging up. @griefscene taken in Pankow, Berlin, Germany by @griefscene

(New Berlin show Saturday 4th July!)
---------
It feels like only yesterday we were celebrating our album launch in the warm belly of @artistania_berlin , but looking back at the photos it is clear that time has ravaged us beyond all recognition. In an attempt to stop the rot while we can still be identified on stage we thought it would be best to play another gig.

Thanks to @soulclearsoulclearsoulclear
and @bricksongs
for making it happen. Also be sure not to miss the debut performance from hotly tipped psych dreamboat JAR!

Expect new songs, new friends, and a top secret venue. Hit us up for the address. by @griefscene

@griefscene are a three-piece band based in Berlin. Their second album, the amazing Minoans, was released in July, via @delikassetten, a new DIY label & community project started by Jonathan from @adventureteam420 (that deals “in anti-rock & socialism”).
We fell in love with their adrenaline-filled, raw and emotional music and asked them for a Mixtape!

Today we celebrate the release of DELI002 “Minoans”, the fantastic new album by @griefscene.

When Ian first sent me a private link to the freshly mastered album a few months back, I was immediately hooked by its captivating tunes and the urgency and passionate quality of especially Ian’s vocal performance. Plus he totally shreds. @sallysellerie adds some very welcome, sweet vocal harmonies, while keeping the low end nice and tight, together with longtime brother-in-rhythm @hellohellosound on drums.

I’m flattered and a little proud that Ian, Sally and Brandon entrusted me with releasing their album. Having started Delikassetten last year with little more than an idea and a (decidedly catchy) name, I’m looking forward to what the future may hold, now we’re getting this thing rolling for real.

Whereas @adventureteam420 has been called “spry” and “lithe” (quote @skiingtheband), Grief Scene strike me on “Minoans” as something more along the lines of virile and stout—with a healthy dose of well-directed anger, at those that make all our lives so miserable.

I know Ian considers “Minoans” a dark album of sorts, but—full disclosure—being the big pop geek I am, I’m a total sucker for the lighter moments the album holds, in form of the two total lofi indie rock anthems “John McClane” and “Goldtown”. Mandatory listen!

For fans of The Wedding Present, Sebadoh and Adventure Team.

Listen on all relevant and irrelevant streaming platforms, as well as on Bandcamp.

Come celebrate with us and grab a copy on vinyl or CD at the release show next Friday, the 18th, at @artistania_berlin, with @baddatesofficial and @jaguar_no_me. Juan and I will also be djing. by @griefscene

The stars have aligned and we will be celebrating our album release right where it all began at @artistania_berlin, mere metres from where we recorded the bloody thing. We're mega excited to be joined by our new favourite heartbreakers @baddatesofficial and an extra special performance from @jaguar_no_me , with the notorious sonic pioneers from @adventureteam420 keeping things noisy afterwards.

Friday 18th July // Neckarstr. 19 // 20h

...and of course our endless gratitude to @karlamarchesi for lending us her painting! (Body Horror, 2023) by @griefscene

On the shores of northern Crete lie the ruins of an ancient civilisation. No one knows what caused the once-vibrant society to collapse so suddenly.

We are delighted to announce our new album MINOANS which will be coming out on Friday 11th July on @delikassetten records! It will be available on vinyl / CD / digital (choose your poison).

Will there be some kind of pre-order? Perhaps. Will you be able to see us play the songs in person? Absolutely! Stay tuned for more info on that front.

Thanks to @karlamarchesi for the cover painting and @tobiashumble for the glamour shot. by @griefscene

Thanks to @alt77music for the review of British Petroleum! I'll admit I didn't completely follow all the döner material, but it's always appreciated when someone takes the time to engage with the music. Check it out - the link is in the bio.

Meanwhile please consider swinging by @neuezukunftstralau TOMORROW where we will be getting agitated along with @lasbrumasbrumas and @biggainerband by @griefscene

New single!! There's plenty more where this came from but you'll have to wait a little bit longer for that... in the meantime maybe watch our new video for British Petroleum, where we take you on a fun journey to the bottom of the sea and through the volcanic wastes as one man reckons with his terrible past.

Listen in all the usual places. Link in bio.

A few pics from the shoot for our upcoming video!

We hope that by going behind the scenes and sharing our process we can convince any aspiring filmmakers that you don't need any fancy equipment or indeed talent to express yourself/impress your friends/disgust and appall the general population.
