WOODY’S LULLABY
For Your GRAMMY® Consideration
Best America Roots Song & Best American Roots Performance.
(🎶Link in Bio)
.
(I’m listening too. Please send FYC to: Marthareichmusic@gmail.com)
.
And in case you were wondering, here’s the story behind the cover art for the song.
.
Woody kept me company so much of the time, especially when I played music.
He loved to sit on the piano, on my shoulders, besides me on a chair, on my lap when I meditated,
and sometimes even the piano keys while I played.
I loved his presence always.
.
When Woody transitioned from this world to the next,
I ask him if he would please come back to me in his next life. I know, a big ask.
.
Then I found Ziggy (Stardust) and adopted him.
I soon learned of so many similarities between Woody and Ziggy. Truly amazing things Ziggy would do, that only Woody did when he was alive.
.
So when I finally finished writing and recording ‘Woody’s Lullaby’ (in my little home studio) and editing it, Ziggy jumped up on the keyboard next to me and took a nap.
This is something Woody would have certainly done.
So I took a picture of Ziggy up there, and it became the cover art for the song.
.
P.S. Perhaps that was too much information, but I just wanted to clarify that the kitty on the cover isn’t Woody, but Ziggy’s loving presence, as well.
All the other picture are of Woody, or Woody and me.

“Decay” by The Blue Herons is OUT NOW! Listen here hypeddit.com/ky026y

“Decay” is the final single ahead of Demon Slayer, the forthcoming album by transatlantic dreampop duo The Blue Herons. Rooted in the band’s classic jangle pop and dreampop sound, the song is built around shimmering guitar layers and interlocking melodies, balancing uplift with a gentle undercurrent of nostalgia.

Guitar melodies weave and respond to one another throughout the song, while the chorus opens into a buoyant back-and-forth between lead and background vocals, creating a feeling of motion, connection, and shared memory. As a reflection on the optimism of youth and futures filled with possibility, “Decay” captures the album’s melodic heart, offering a moment of warmth and reflection before the record fully unfolds.

“Fight or Flight” by The Blue Herons is OUT NOW! Listen here hypeddit.com/3qf0h0

“Fight or Flight” is the second official single from Demon Slayer, the forthcoming album by
transatlantic dreampop duo The Blue Herons. Rooted in the band’s melodic, guitar-driven sound, the track opens in a hushed, intimate space, built on delicate guitar figures and vocals that feel close and emotionally restrained.

As the song unfolds, what begins in softness gradually expands into a shoegaze-adjacent swell, with layered guitar textures and an aching lead line pushing the song forward as the vocals rise and recede within the density. The result is a slow-burn, cinematic piece that broadens both the sonic and emotional range of Demon Slayer while remaining unmistakably The Blue Herons.

“Willow” by The Blue Herons is OUT NOW! Listen here hypeddit.com/mx2pl5

“Willow” is an uptempo dreampop track built around glimmering jangle pop guitar, expressive vocals, and melody-driven songwriting. The song blurs the boundary between dream and waking state. As it unfolds, layered guitars gradually thicken and distort, building momentum while remaining rooted in melody.

The track is the first official single from Demon Slayer, the forthcoming album by transatlantic duo The Blue Herons. The band creates wistful dreampop with a cinematic sense of space and emotion, crafting melody-driven songs that drift between jangle pop, atmospheric dreampop, and hazy jangle gaze.

Dreamhouse by The Blue Herons is OUT NOW! Listen here hypeddit.com/d9ckt5

A driving dream pop reinterpretation of Xmal Deutschland’s “Dreamhouse,” blending chiming jangle guitars, hazy distortion, and vocals-forward melodies with a steady, propulsive pulse. While distinctly a Blue Herons’ take — brighter and more melodic — the track retains a subtle darkwave and post-punk undercurrent that will resonate with fans of the original.
