ESP.

ENG. Last night in Sayulita, Gringa was screened—a film that, without trying too hard, manages to capture the importance of family and how Mexican culture leaves a lasting impression on those experiencing it for the first time. With a sincere mix of drama and comedy, the story reflects what many here already know: the richness of a culture that celebrates detail, color, warmth, and the ability to make even the smallest moments feel meaningful.

Directed by foreigners but brought to life by a largely Mexican crew, Gringa felt close to home. It doesn’t try to explain Mexico—it simply shows what it feels like to be here. The audience embraced it warmly, and it’s easy to see why.

Films like this remind us that sometimes, all it takes is paying attention to truly understand each other.
