Drift Matsuri 2026 - what a crazy way to round off our season.

This year proved just how dedicated the @driftmatsuri team, Anglesey Circuit staff, all marshals and anyone involved in the event really are. Braving TWO storms to keep the action flowing and all the visitors entertained and safe.

We thought we were looking forward to a break over winter. The trouble with Matsuri is, it's SO good that we're already eager to get back behind the wheel 😂

But the cars deserve a rest and we've got plenty of maintenance to do, so for now, it's time to enjoy the endless flow of content from the event!

There was some very challenging driving in the conditions - especially in the night demos. It's hard enough not being able to see, but patchy wet/dry conditions at the same time were interesting to say the least.... MX5s don't have the power to pull us out of any mistakes (of which plenty were made 😅), but this makes it all the more rewarding when things do go right.

Thank you to everyone tagging us in content, we're loving it. And to all those who spoke to us at the weekend, wearing merch, sending messages etc. We appreciate you more than words can say ❤

@gripped.up were absolutely bringing the vibe Saturday

Yes there are higher powered cars.
Yes there was more smoke.
Yes there were intense battles…

But these guys were having the most fun.

How do you get into drifting?

We caught up with @dan6061 at @gripped.up to find out how someone can get started in the exciting world of drifting! #drifting by @gripped.up

We caught up with @offinnsive from the @gripped.up MX-5 team, who told us how he got into drifting using a sim racing setup!

What a brilliant way to learn the basics and get into the world of drifting before hitting the track!

Thanks for sharing your insight with us, Finn! by @gripped.up

We caught up with the MX-5 team at @gripped.up Drift Team to get their expert advice on drifting non-turbo cars and hear their tips for anyone looking to break into the drifting scene. by @gripped.up

The OFFICIAL Japfest Goodwood aftermovie will be dropping tonight on the @fastcarmagazine channel. Here’s a taster of what to expect! We’ll add the link to the stories as soon as it drops! by @gripped.up

Feeling so overwhelmed by the incredible love and support from everyone this weekend at @japfest_official. Meeting everyone on the grid was a real highlight!

Driving these little cars is the best thing in the world, but sharing it with such a wholesome crowd makes it 10x better 🙏

Also thank you to anyone who bought team merch, it was mind-blowing to see people walking round with our designs on things they'd bought!

@driftmatsuri put on an amazing show and it's an honour to be a part of it. Don't miss their main event in Anglesey 24-25 October - we'll be there too!
