The Stone of Destiny & the Coronation Chair

When Britain’s King Charles III was crowned in London on the 6th of May 2023, he sat on an ancient coronation chair 700 years old housing a 152 kg boulder cloaked in mystery. Used for British coronations since the late 14th century, the Stone of Scone is of unknown origins and age.
Legend traces this rectangular slab to Israel the land of Palestine 3,000 years ago, but scientists believe it is likely from Scotland.

The Stone of Scone, Lia Fàil, Stane o Scuin, also known as the Stone of Destiny, is an oblong block of red sandstone that was used originally in the coronation of the monarchs of Scotland and, after the 13th century, the coronation of the monarchs of England, Great Britain and the United Kingdom. It is also known as Jacob's Pillow Stone and the Tanist Stone.

Its size is 26 in (66 cm) x 16.7 in (42 cm) x 10.5 in (26.7 cm) and its weight is approximately 335 lb (152 kg). A roughly incised cross is on one surface, and an iron ring at each end aids with transport. Monarchs used to sit on the Stone of Scone itself until a wooden platform was added to the Coronation Chair in the 17th century.

The coronation chair, which was commissioned by King Edward I and finished around 1300, has served as the seat for 38 monarchs as they were crowned and is thought to be one of the oldest pieces of British furniture still in use. Made of gilded oak, it’s been painstakingly preserved over centuries and was given a thorough restoration ahead of King Charles III’s crowning.

At Westminster Abbey, it will be fitted underneath the over 700-year-old wooden Coronation Chair, which the monarch will sit upon as he is crowned.

One enduring myth gives the stone an even longer history. This legend states it was used as a pillow by biblical figure Jacob, more than three millennia ago, before being moved from Palestine to Egypt, Italy, Spain, and Ireland, where it was then seized by Celtic Scots. by @grisarou

The gold Ampulla or vessel is cast in the form of an eagle with outspread wings, on a domed and foliate base, and a foot chased with auricular scrolls and masks. The head of the eagle screws off, and there is an aperture in the beak for pouring the oil.

The Ampulla is used to hold the consecrated chrism or oil with which a sovereign is anointed during the coronation ceremony. The design, in the form of an eagle, is based on an earlier, smaller vessel, which in turn was based on a fourteenth-century legend that the Virgin Mary appeared to St Thomas a Becket and presented him with a golden eagle and a vial of oil for anointing future kings of England.

Traditionally the oil is placed in the Ampulla, and then poured into the twelfth-century Anointing Spoon, at the most sacred moment of the coronation.

The gesture of anointing, when the Archbishop touches holy oil onto the head, breast and hands of the sovereign, dates back to the Old Testament Book of Kings, where the anointing of Solomon as King is described.

Holy oil to anoint King Charles III on his coronation, has been consecrated in Jerusalem, Israel

Olive oils from the Mount of Olives were mixed as part of making the chrism oil that will be used to anoint the new King during his coronation.

Charles’ grandmother Princess Alice of Battenberg is interred at the Russian Orthodox Church of St. Mary Magdalene at the Mount of Olives. The king visited her tomb prior to ascending the throne, during a trip to Israel in 2020.

This coronation oil, which reflects the king’s personal family connection with the Holy Land and his great care for its peoples.

The Archbishop of Canterbury said on Friday that he was “honoured and grateful” for its consecration. “I want to thank especially His Beatitude for providing this coronation oil, which reflects the King’s personal family connection with the Holy Land and his great care for its peoples. I am also delighted that the Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem shared in the consecration of the oil.

“Since beginning the planning for the coronation, my desire has been for a new coronation oil to be produced using olive oil from the Mount of Olives. This demonstrates the deep historic link between the coronation, the Bible, and the Holy Land. From ancient kings through to the present day, monarchs have been anointed with oil from this sacred place. As we prepare to anoint the King and the Queen Consort, I pray that they would be guided and strengthened by the Holy Spirit.”

The ‘Star of David’ & The ‘Balkenkreuz’ on 1 German Fighter Jet - April 2023
Symbols of the Jewish State of Israel (Magen David) & the symbol of the Luftwaffe German air force the Flat Cross.

In honour of the 75th Israeli Independence Day, and as part of the flyover, the Luftwaffe, German Air Force painted the Israeli and German flags on a Eurofighter Typhoon 2.0. This is incredible, 80 years after the holocaust, Jews, Israelis & Germans are united as the defending force of Peace.

Independence Day, that marks 75 years of the Jewish state's existence.

The annual flyover will feature 11 fighter jets, foreign pilots from the U.S.A, United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy, along with IAF planes

This year, several foreign pilots will join in the flyover, which will include an F-16 fighter jet from the United States and Eurofighter Typhoons from Germany, the United Kingdom and Italy, “as a sign of partnership between the countries and the unique relationship of the State of Israel.

This represents the cooperation between the free democratic countries of the world and their unique relationship with the State of Israel.

The foreign fighter jets will fly through Israel’s sky, some of them accompanied by IAF aircraft.

This is another expression of the cooperation and close relationship between Israel and the participating countries.

Special Yizkor Prayer Memorializing Israel's Fallen Heroes, Israeli IDF Soldiers.
2023 we count 24,213 souls.

May God remember the souls of His heroic children: The warriors of the Israel Defense Forces, who fell in the wars of Israel, in defensive, retaliative, and security actions and during the fulfillment of their duty, including the souls of the underground fighters and brigades who fought in the national struggle - all those who sacrificed their lives for the sanctification of God's Name.

And with the help of God, the Lord of Israel's campaigns, they brought about the revival of the nation and the state and the redemption of the land and the city of God.

They were quicker than eagles and stronger than lions as they volunteered to assist the nation, and they saturated our holy land with their pure blood.

The memory of their self-sacrifice and heroic deeds will never disappear from us.

May their souls be bound in the Bond of Life with the souls of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and with the souls of the other heroes and martyrs of Israel who are in the Garden of Eden. Amen. by @grisarou
