Peggy Floyd, her daughter Jenae Floyd, and her brother-in-law Tom Higgins have turned Griz game days into a 27-season celebration of hospitality.

Season ticket holders since 2000, the family hosts a tailgate at every home game for 60 to 80 friends and family — and welcomes opposing fans with a simple philosophy: "Fans are fans, let the boys settle it on the field."

The heart of it all is the Grizmobile, a rolling shrine to Montana football complete with turf floors painted like the field, walls covered in 27 years of memories, and a trophy case holding pieces of the goalposts from the national championship game. The menu rivals any restaurant in Missoula — poke bowls, chicken lo mein, smashed dumplings, elote, carne asada nachos — all thanks to Jenae, the in-house chef.

Beyond the tailgate, the family has raised funds for breast cancer research, supported the UM toy drive and "Can the Cats" and honored veterans with Quilts of Valor ceremonies at the Grizmobile.

Congrats to Peggy, Jenae and Tom, recipients of this week's Community Service Award. Their pride in Griz Nation travels with them wherever they go — from Chattanooga to Frisco — and always comes with a loud "Go Griz!" by @grizalum

🏆No. 1 university in the country for the fall. Source: us.

We’d like to thank our campus community, our trees and ourselves!

This is a nationally benchmarked, internally validated fall experience based on higher education criteria that includes:

· Leveraging natural assets to optimize the autumn experience. Have you seen our trees?
· A holistic approach to seasonal distinction. Like spiking a pumpkin on Main Hall for over 30 years!
· Demonstrating measurable outcomes in golden-hour engagement. Aka, the views from top of the M Trail. Let’s go.
· A transformative, student-centered autumn experience. Basically our campus is a fall movie backdrop.

You can’t beat fall in Missoula! Go Griz 😎🍁 by @grizalum

This weekend we celebrate 40 years of Washington-Grizzly Stadium and the unforgettable moments that have made it one of the most beloved places in Griz Nation.

The generosity of the Washington family over four decades ago built not only a stadium, but a home for generations of proud Griz fans and lifelong friendships.

Last week, UMAA had the privilege to honor the recipients of the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award.

Congratulations to Jen Marangelo, Dr. Sara Scott, Dr. Jim Souza and Dayna Swanson for your continued commitment to excellence.

Swipe to learn more about each DAA recipient.

Jen Marangelo, ‘98, ‘MIS ‘08

Marangelo has spent much of her life helping people see what they have overlooked. As founder and executive director of the Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium, she has turned a lifelong curiosity about the natural world into a one-of-a-kind science museum that invites visitors of all ages to look closely at the small creatures that keep ecosystems running.

Dr. Sara Scott, ‘79, PhD ‘14

Scott has spent more than four decades helping Montanans see what lies beneath the surface: the trails, campsites, rock art and artifacts that reveal how people moved through and adapted to this landscape for thousands of years. An accomplished archaeologist, interpreter and preservation advocate, she has built a career on the quiet, patient work of protecting cultural resources and bringing them to life for the public.

Dr. Jim Souza, ‘88

Souza’s career has been built on the intersection of medicine and communication. The skills required to care for critically ill patients and steer one of Idaho’s largest health systems through immense change were first honed at UM. A pulmonologist and critical care physician by training, he now serves as System Chief Physician Executive at St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, where he leads clinical strategy, quality and physician engagement across eight hospitals, hundreds of clinics and more than a thousand providers.

Dayna Swanson, ‘93, MPA ‘95

Swanson has built a life around the belief that public service is both a vocation and a responsibility. From her roots in Anaconda to leadership roles in the U.S. Senate, health care and local government, she has devoted her career to strengthening communities, expanding access to public institutions and mentoring the next generation of women leaders who will carry that work forward. by @grizalum

Congratulations to this week's Community Service Award Winner, Cathy Kuntz! She will be honored at tomorrow's homecoming football game.

Cathy has spent a lifetime in service to Montana's students and communities. A 1976 UM graduate and 1975 Homecoming Queen, she taught for 42 years in Great Falls Public Schools, including 11 years in special education. Nominated seven times by students for "Who's Who Among America's Teachers," she mentored new educators and made classrooms better for students and colleagues alike.

Cathy's UM roots run deep — her mother, brother, sister, son and daughter all attended Montana — and she hasn't missed a Homecoming since 1972, gathering each year with her Sigma Kappa sisters on the corner of University and Gerald to watch the parade.

Since retiring, she has served on the Great Falls Grizzly Scholarship Association board and remains active in Leadership Great Falls, Leadership Montana, the arts and her church.

For Cathy, the lifelong friendships forged at UM are the foundation of a life well lived. by @grizalum
