Some destinations deserve a good cup of coffee.

Standing beside a glacier fed river with snow covered mountains rising in the distance, it was hard not to appreciate that every part of this experience had been worth the effort. From grinding the beans by hand to carefully brewing each cup over the fire, the process became just as meaningful as the coffee itself because a place like this deserves more than convenience. It deserves a cup that’s been crafted with intention.

Long before that first cup is poured beside a mountain river or shared around a campfire, that same intention begins at the roaster. Every batch is carefully developed to bring out the character of the bean, making small adjustments throughout the roast because we know that coffee rarely becomes the story. When camping is done right, nobody wants the night to end.

The best camping trips aren’t remembered because everything went according to plan. They’re remembered because everyone gathered around the fire, the coffee kept brewing, dinner turned into dessert, and nobody was in a hurry to call it a night.

For this Sunday.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33

Jesus doesn’t tell us to seek success, comfort, or security first. He tells us to seek His kingdom. When Christ is our first priority, everything else begins to fall into its proper place. It doesn’t mean life will always be easy, but it does mean we can trust the One who faithfully provides for our every need.

May we begin this week by putting Him first in all that we do.

She’s been part of GRO Coffee since day one.

As I was making Tori a cup of coffee on our new @flairespressomaker 49 Pro, I looked over and there was Catrianna in the background doing exactly what I was doing. She was pretending to make her own cup of coffee before taking a sip, and honestly, it made me smile because it felt so normal.

She has been immersed in every part of @grocoffee since the very beginning. She has helped grind coffee, pack orders, prepare shipping boxes, make deliveries with me, work events, and of course help make coffee. As she gets older, her confidence continues to grow, and so does her desire to take on more responsibility. I have no doubt she’ll be running things before long.

The funny part is she already thinks she works here, and if you ask her, she’ll probably tell you she deserves another raise. She also happens to be one of the funniest little negotiators I’ve ever met. Somehow she always manages to work out a better deal for herself, and honestly, she’s pretty good at it.

Watching our daughters grow up around this business has been one of the greatest blessings of building it together as a family. Long after the coffee is brewed, those are the memories that will matter most.
