275 lbs 295 lbs 315 lbs - 15 pound PR Was supposed to be 655 on the trump axle, they misloaded it to 715 and I still got it to my knees, nobody realized till afterward. I feel I would have gotten at least 1-2 had it been 655 but oh well. 200 - 225 - 255 x 3 Not as fast as I wanted but my back was wrecked after that surprise 715 attempt… 735 - 265 per hand Blitzed this one, .09 seconds behind the pro @premeditatedmovement but way faster than training ever was. 11 reps at 250, sandstones are just as easy as sandbags confirmed Overall happy with the performance, still wish I would have had a chance at the 655 axle deadlift for reps but getting 715 to my knees still has me quite pleased with where my deadlift is at Was an honor to compete against a current pro card holder, gave me some great advice during the show and showed me how much more I still gotta improve to be up at that level. Overhead is still my biggest weakness but it’s at least steadily climbing by @groggdog15
Honeymoon’s over, right back to the heavy weights 💪🏻 435x3->240x3 445x3->250x3 Hiking 4.6 miles up and down the Smoky Mountains has great carryover apparently (Repost since I forgot it cuts the video off past 60 seconds, now you can actually see my log part) by @groggdog15
Full run at comp weight 4 weeks out Still a little tentative with grip after the callus tear last month but I got another gear saved for comp day by @groggdog15
End of the 3 week block 590x3 590x5 Trump weight coming up for reps is 655, hoping for at least a couple Getting married tomorrow so hopefully I won’t be too sore 🤷‍♂️ by @groggdog15
@jack_kirby9821 with the expert video work as always Event 1: Axle 230 Log 250 - 1st Event 2: Car Deadlift - tied 1st (tore callus) Event 3: 275 Sandbag to Shoulder - 1st Event 4: 280lb Farmers hold - 6th (Torn Callus is not friendly for this one 🙃) Event 5: Atlas Stones - 220,245,255,275,290 - 3rd Event 6: Tie Breaker vs @ballenstrength, Stall mat pinch grip with 25lbs head to head. Held on long enough to win the show but man was it close! Tearing a callus is not fun, my hand hurts a lot but I toughed it out and held on to the strong start. Huge shoutouts to Brian Allen for fighting hard the whole comp and making it so close, @benstone32 for running another amazing comp, @dennylabreche for the free coaching trial in prep for this event, @pelan_an_orange for representing Defiance as well with a win, and lastly to @defiancesc__ for being the best gym in Dayton and @sulli_tkgfitness for always bringing the energy to the gym every time we’re there. Gotta get the full stone run clean and that tie breaker doesn’t happen but oh well, on to the next one 💪🏻 by @groggdog15
Final mock event, goal is at least 6 with the 275 bag on comp day 1 week to rest and recover Excited to see all my strongman friends and execute what I know I’m capable of 💪🏻 by @groggdog15
Simulated the car deadlift as best I could. Goal was to hit 15 or stop after a minute by @groggdog15
Mock event day done Easy 260 Log to warm up Press Medley - Log at 240, axle at 220, 10 lbs lighter than comp weight for each. Rushed the first down command and for sure had the 6th rep in under a minute if I didn’t rush it and messed up my clean but oh well, that’s what training is for. Thank you @kristic2740 for the start and down commands! 270 per hand held for 26 seconds 230 per hand held for 34 seconds. Next Saturday is gonna be fun 💪🏻 by @groggdog15
Top 3 sets from my last heavy deadlift day before the contest 585x3 605x3 625x3 That car were deadlifting better have good suspension by @groggdog15
