The sea is calm today, or so it seems. A gentle ripple, almost unnoticed, laps at the shore. Beautiful, isn't it? But I've learned that beauty can be deceiving. I've seen how these gentle ripples, day by day, become a tide that swallows the land.
Inch by inch, the ocean claims what was once solid, leaving only ruin in its wake.

A small crack in the seawall, ignored, becomes a gaping chasm. A whisper of wind, dismissed, can grow into a storm that tears ships apart.
The ocean's power is in its persistence, its relentless rise.
It doesn't announce its intentions. It simply… claims.

I've watched the tides change, seen the subtle shifts in the current. I've felt the unsettling pull of the undertow, the way it tugs you away from the shore, promising something different, something… more.

And I know, deep down, that the ocean doesn't offer more. It only takes. It takes and takes until there's nothing left but the vast, empty expanse of water.
The ocean is capable of anything. And the small problem, the one that seems so insignificant now? It's the ripple. It's the whisper.
And I know what the ocean does to those who ignore them. by @groovyflakes
