My Kainey Boy
2013-4/7/2026

I told myself this day wouldn't come or at least it was still far off in the future. Has it really been 13 years since we swept you up off the streets of Los Angeles? You were struggling out there like me. But once you were inside You knew you were home and that I'd take care of you. I watched you grow and thrive.

I had never had an animal that was only mine to care for before. You made it easy. You were playful, cuddly, and sweet. So sweet, you DEMANDED cuddles, and I could rarely deny them. Just a year after you arrived Scarlett was born and I knew I didn't have to worry about you around her.

We've come so far together. You were my copilot in the U-haul truck we drove from LA to Seattle. All the way up the west coast, just me and you. Through several apartments and living arrangements you stayed by my side. When I was going through the hardest times, I always had you.

You taught me so much. You were so handsome, gentle and wise, and just a bit derpy. Everyone that met you loved you, even if they were wary of cats.

I'm so lucky to have had you. Thank you for being the best cat a guy could ask for. I'll be looking for you everywhere. 🖤 taken in Seattle, Washington by @groteskanimal

Skating around, listening to us play our new song Already Dead probably a little too loud? If you weren’t at @southgaterollerrink you don’t know what you’re missing.
