This man saved my life, and it's his birthday! I can never thank John Hiatt enough, but I can give to @cumberlandheights to help them help others. Check out Perfectly Good Podcast's discussion with this great organization. <iframe allow="autoplay" width="100%" height="300" src="https://www.iheart.com/podcast/263-perfectly-good-podcast-joh-103072830/episode/celebrating-john-hiatts-birthday-supporting-290155376/?embed=true" frameborder="0"></iframe> by @grothsylvan

This week I’m joined by Sylvan Groth & Jesse Jackson, co-hosts of Perfectly Good Podcast for a deep dive into the legendary songwriting catalog of John Hiatt.

Together, we’re curating The Ultimate John Hiatt Playlist—a carefully crafted mix of fan favorites, underrated deep cuts, and timeless classics that highlight the brilliance of one of Americana’s most respected songwriters. Whether you’re a longtime listener or just discovering his brilliance for the first time, this episode serves as both a celebration and a primer on his remarkable career.

From critically acclaimed albums like Bring the Family and Slow Turning to newer classics from his New West Records’ releases, we shine a spotlight on Hiatt’s storytelling, soulful vocals, and genre-spanning influence across rock, blues, folk, and country.

If you’re looking for a John Hiatt starter guide, or just want to hear a trio of passionate Hiatt fans wax poetic over one of America’s most criminally underrated songwriters, this episode is for you! Listen now via the link in my bio or wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts!

What song would you add to The Ultimate #JohnHiatt Playlist?
