HAPPY 66 INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIAN 🇳🇬

Nigeria gained independence from British colonial rule on October 1, 1960, marking a major turning point in the nation’s history. After years of political development and the efforts of Nigerian leaders and citizens, Nigeria became an independent sovereign nation.

On October 1, 1960, Nigeria’s independence was formally proclaimed, with Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa becoming the country’s first Prime Minister. The occasion represented a new chapter built on hopes for unity, self-governance, peace, and national development.

Today, Nigerians around the world celebrate Independence Day by honoring the nation’s history, culture, resilience, and the generations who contributed to its journey.

Happy Independence Day, Nigeria! 🇳🇬💚🤍💚
October 1, 1960 — A new chapter began.
