“It’s a travel company designed to give you space to be YOU” 🌟 🌍 ✈️

To be clear - we are for EVERYONE - neurodivergent or not!

(But we want to emphasise that we are accessible & neurodivergent friendly to those who might feel safer if we point this out 🧠🌶️)

My ‘why’ 👉 My first experience on group trips was great in that I built confidence and made some great friends… but group sizes were HUGE, I often found myself alone at night if I didn’t want to go out drinking and because of that, of course, you end up on the outside of conversations and end up feeling lonelier than if you’d just gone alone. I’m creating a space where people like me BELONG.

(No - we don’t do party tours. If that’s your vibe, there’s soooo many companies out there who do these brilliantly 🪩 🕺)

Few spaces remain for our South India trip in September - comment “Kerala” and I’ll send you some more info 🌊

Just a girl, from Northern England, who loves travel, but most importantly making people feel loved, valued, nurtured and SEEN 🌊✨

I made @thebackpackerhub as a Uni Student - and she’s not going anywhere, don’t worry. But I failed at making it a travel company, and I’m NOT mad about it. How on Earth, could I ever have thrived owning a generic travel company ‘for everyone’, when I myself, have never ever belonged in the ‘everyone’ bracket? 🌊

Oh no - you can find me on the outside of ‘everyone’. I’ve never felt ‘in’ the crowd, or ‘in’ the group. Belonging has always been a bit of an issue for me - whether it was self inflicted neurodivergentness or just not fitting into the wider world of conformity. So I’ve created @ondaadventures for MY kind of people.

We prefer quieter experiences, where the fun is LOUD. We prefer unmasked silliness, than aesthetic shots. We prefer to see things for how they are, rather than how they’re dressed up to look online. We don’t like big groups, but we thrive in the right one. Maybe we aren’t big partiers, but we still celebrate EVERYTHING. We want to explore new things, different things, and we get joy from the genuine privilege of experiencing.

I’m building Onda Adventures for ‘people like me’ :) Maybe you’re neurodivergent, maybe you’re an introverted extrovert, maybe you just want a deeper connection out of your trip. Something REAL. I got u.

Does anyone really know their EXACT purpose? No. It also changes yearly for me and probably most other ADHDers #real

But I knew I was always bound to help people. Help people do WHAT exactly I was never sure, but I knew the only way I’d ever be fulfilled was to help people, nurture people, understand people & connect with them 🫶🏻🎀 Animals are obviously an added bonus !!! 🐘

It’s what lead me to study my psychology degree(s) and do the research that I did (evaluating feelings of belonging in the education system) 🧠🌶️

And now, it’s what lead me to create a travel company where I actually feel like I fit in!!! And not stick out like a sore thumb!!!

I’m here for you, I love you, DM’s are always open

Travelling the world over the last 5 years you would not believe the amount of times someone has said this to me… I’m literally from Cheshire 😂

‘I just wanna make *enough* money and connect gorgeous humans in gorgeous places around the world and also look after all the stray animals and rescue elephants’.
That’s literally it. Ok? 🐘🫶🏻✈️🌺🎀✨

Did someone say Chai? 🫖🫚☕️ 👇

Over the last year, after previously sticking to the comfort of well-known & more travelled South East Asia, I have absolutely fallen in love with South Asia 🛕 🐘🌺🛺🍛 🌏 🐅

It’s why we decided that the first @ondaadventures trips simply HAD to be in this area of the world - and we’re working on more trips behind the scenes 🎬

Want to get involved in building our South Asia trips, helping us to decide dates & getting early-access when the trips launch? Comment ‘Chai’ and I’ll add you to our trip community & you can become part of the fam 💬 🩵

I’ve decided it’s time to come back home & use the UK as my base for the foreseeable future 🫶🏻

Here are all of the things I’ve learnt from the past 23 months of full-time travel, and how I’ll apply them when I’m back at home:

#fulltimetravel #travel

✈️ Time flies when you’re away, enjoy EVERY moment - even the uncomfortable ones because these are the ones you’ll LAUGH at later. These are the ones that give you humility and gratitute, and change you forever.

But also, being away from home for so long. I used to think ‘I come home and nothing changes!’

❤️‍🩹 Then my Mum got ill and we thought we might lose her before we were ready to. My dogs aged. My little sisters grew up. I got even closer to my Dad.

🇧🇷 Now, I’ve been to Rio Carnival. 4 Wonders of the World. Lived in Australia. Sky dived. Stepped foot on 6/7 continents. And you know what would make me happiest right now?

Browsing Next & Marks and Spencer’s Gemini with my Mum.

I WANT to be there for the everyday mundane moments that I used to take for granted. Game nights. Cups of tea. Watching series together in the living room. Walking the dogs and seeing their happy little faces as they run through the field. Laughing and creating memories with my friends - instead of everything being a ‘catch up’. Watching Barbie films in Evie’s room at night.

I’m not IN my loved one’s lives anymore, but instead just catching up on what i’ve missed.

🧠 I didn’t appreciate this until recently - frontal lobe maybe. Travel for me used to be escapism, but over the years it’s turned to missing out.

When you’re budget travelling and you’re living off your savings until the next seasonal job - you can’t just come home. Because that’s a huge chunk of your budget gone. That is setting yourself up to be home again and working for your next few thousand in savings. When you make this choice - you’re either in, or you’re out.

And when you’re out you miss birthdays, christenings, weddings, friend group get togethers… and no one can relate to you. No one knows what to ask. You come home a completely different person and people are so fixed on the old version of you, it’s really difficult to gel again.

On our last tour, we just so happened to catch a rare bloom of a rare flower - so naturally, when offered a spontaneous hike to find it, the group said YES! 🙌🪻

Are you in awe at these views too? 🥹 Join us on our next tour - comment YES and we’ll DM you with more info on how to join our group trip community 🪻ℹ️🫶🏻✨
