Last year we visited Australia. What happened next exceeded our expectations.

Dan from Grow Blanks travelled there to explore the surf scene and connect with shapers who believed in what we’re building with agave.

One of those connections was shaper @garymcneillconcepts, who works closely with Dave Rastovich. He took one of our agave blanks and turned it into a masterpiece

@dave_rastovich, a surfer we’ve long admired for representing conscious surfing & environmental responsibility — has been riding the board for the past few months. In this video, filmed in his garden, he shares some of his thoughts on how the agave core performs underfoot.

Hearing his feedback has given us a huge amount of inspiration and motivation. We’re incredibly grateful to Dave and Gary for the support and generosity in sharing their experience as we introduce agave to the surf industry 🙏🌱

We’re also excited to announce that agave blanks will soon be available in Australia through our new distributor 👉 @ecosurfsupply.au , working alongside our European distributor @ecosurfsupply.

What an iconic moment 🤙🏾🌱

The longest board ever shaped at @glidingbarnacles — a 12ft glider.

Made from a @grow_blanks Agave blank 🌱 and shaped by @substance.surfboards 🤘🏾 What a beautiful creation for his first Agave board - and he went straight for a 12ft glider 🚀😮‍💨

The board turned out super sweet. Can’t wait to see it laminated and, most importantly, surfed. 🌊

Big thanks to @glidingbarnacles for making this iconic surf event happen and for hosting everyone in the kindest way possible. ❤️

Little spoiler alert… 🇺🇸🌱

Grow Blanks is coming to America.

We’ll share a lot more about what we’ve got planned over the next couple of weeks.

The Boardroom Show, time on the road, meeting some incredible people and hopefully opening a few new doors for agave.

But first… we need a little help from our community.

Gary McNeill has an exact copy of the agave board Rasta is calling his favourite board ever - and there’s no way we’re heading to America without showing people what’s possible with this material.

Only problem… the board is in Australia. 🇦🇺😂

So we’re putting the call out:

Is anyone flying Australia → Los Angeles
