GrowMad on the Road... A total pleasure to have supported the @nvs_uk National Vegetable Society Midlands Branch at their championships, held last weekend at the Malvern Autumn Show. It's one of the very last shows of the season, but one of our favourites, always with an autumn theme. It's good to appreciate the changing of the seasons. @malvernshows #GYO #allotments by @grow_mad

GrowMad on the Road... We were incredibly proud to have represented @kingsseeds at the Malvern Autumn Show held last weekend. The weather was perfect, and the crowds were in a seed-buying mood ahead of next season's sowing, which will soon be upon us. The star of the show was tomato 'Vesuvius', an improved San Marzano type with improved disease resistance and exceptional cooking qualities - great colour and almost seedless. If you missed it at the show, Kings Seed has plenty in stock... #tomato #tomatoes 🍅 by @grow_mad

GrowMad on the Road... What a privilege to have spent yesterday among some of the very best veg growers in the country at the National Vegetable Society's (NVS) National Championships in Cardiff. The quality of exhibits was beyond exceptional, simply in a league of their own. Huge thanks to the hosts (NVS Welsh Branch) for your warm welcome and hospitality. @rayhiggins @nvs_uk #GYO #allotment #vegetables by @grow_mad

Great to catch up with Hugh. From River Cottage through the Radio 4's recent series 'The Fibre Factor', Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has been one of my biggest sources of inspiration... @rivercottagehq by @grow_mad

On a recent day trip to Dovedale, I took the bet that this ewe wouldn't let me get anywhere near her. How wrong I was. She totally enjoyed the company - I lost the bet... by @grow_mad

If there is one thing that we do well in this country, it is our farm shops... This one in Somerset is organic, reasonably priced, in general homegrown, and the quality is exceptional. They should be mandatory in every village/town... #farmshop #allotment #allotmentuk #gyo #kitchengarden #gardening #allotmentlife #vegplot #organic #harvest #vegetablegarden #eatwhatyougrow #homesteading #horticulture #growyourown #growyourownfood #vegetablegrowing #growyourownfood #harvest #horticulture #kitchengardener #organicvegetables #smallholdinguk by @grow_mad

Despite the heat, the drought, and the workload, we've somehow managed to pull this bad boy out of the climate chaos! It just goes to show that with the correct soil biology, the right varieties, and plenty of mulch - anything is possible, even in the most challenging of seasons - 'Broccoli Burgundy'... @elsomsseeds #brassica #brassicas #broccoli #allotment #allotmentuk #gyo #kitchengarden #gardening #allotmentlife #vegplot #organic #harvest #vegetablegarden #eatwhatyougrow #homesteading #horticulture #growyourown #growyourownfood #vegetablegrowing #growyourownfood #harvest #horticulture #kitchengardener #organicvegetables #smallholdinguk by @grow_mad

It's that time of year again... Prepare the olive oil, garlic, and basil. Pasta sauce time is with us once again. Now that we have had some rain, they will split if not harvested. #pastasauce #tomato #tomatoes #🍎 #allotment #allotmentuk #gyo #kitchengarden #gardening #allotmentlife #vegplot #organic #harvest #vegetablegarden #eatwhatyougrow #homesteading #horticulture #growyourown #growyourownfood #vegetablegrowing #growyourownfood #harvest #horticulture #kitchengardener #organicvegetables #smallholdinguk by @grow_mad
