🌿Why join us at our events?🌿

We’re Growing Greener and 1 year ago we moved to small town called Perdifumo, in the rural area of Cilento, southern Italy🙌

Our goal is to open up an eco-lodge but this year we began this journey by creatinglaunching an outdoor event space, hosting experts to create a vibrant program all centered around sustainability🌱

It’s been inspiring to see so many of you come out and join us!💚

Today, we’re excited to share some of the amazing feedback from this year, and we hope it inspires you to come experience it for yourself✨

We’re stuck and we need your help!

After three years of Growing Greener, we’ve managed to do so much but keeping something like this going in a small village isn’t always easy.

Things move slowly, opportunities are limited, and sometimes you reach a point where you know you need to change something, but right now, we’re struggling to imagine what that change could be.

We know we want Growing Greener to grow into something bigger and more economically sustainable, but we’re not sure what the next step should be.

So we’re looking for ideas, inspiration and examples from other rural areas.

We’ve got a space.
We’ve got some ideas.
Now we need to actually get started.

On 24 October, we’re getting together at the Ex-Asilo di Camella to spend an afternoon cleaning, painting, fixing, planting and making the space a little more ours and a little more useful to the community.

Bring yourself, your hands and your ideas.
Then we’ll eat, drink and celebrate a little bit of what we’ve done.

This event is totally free but we need you to sign up online so we know you’ll be joining us.

6 years of us.

Six years of learning how to be together, growing up alongside each other, changing our minds, making mistakes and figuring out what we actually want from life.

We’ve moved cities, taken risks, left things behind and built new things from scratch. We’ve seen each other at our best and our worst, and somehow kept finding new things to dream about together.

Here’s to everything we’ve built together and to everything that is on the way💚🥹

Join us on the 24th of October for Facciamo Spazio P1, from 14:30 at the Ex-Asilo in Camella, Perdifumo, for an afternoon of volunteering to help transform this space into a hub for the local community.

The local council gave us the keys back in December and since then we’ve been a bit stuck…
We had ideas for the space, but never really found the time to get started. So, rather than keep talking about what it could become, we thought it was time to actually do something.

This event is part of our ESC project Restare per Crescere. Our six volunteers chose the Ex-Asilo for an eco-voluntary action because they saw a space with a lot of potential that needs some attention and one that can actually be used by the local community.

So on the 24th, we’re getting stuck in: cleaning, painting, fixing, moving things around, working outside and starting to make the place feel a bit more alive.

We’ll finish the day with some time spent together over a snack of fresh local bread and olive oil.

It’s completely free and open to anyone who wants to come and help, all you need to do is sign up.

So… what do we actually do?
The short answer is: a bit of everything.

Growing Greener started with a pretty simple idea: we wanted to create something in the small village where we had decided to live.

Since then, it’s become events, workshops, projects, collaborations, meals, conversations, new friendships, long days, lots of ideas and quite a few moments of wondering what the hell we were doing.

Because building something from scratch in a small rural community isn’t always easy.
There have been things that worked, things that didn’t, ideas that went nowhere and others that turned into something we never expected.

And we still don’t have a clear answer to what Growing Greener is supposed to become.
But maybe that’s also part of where we are right now.

We’re still trying things, learning as we go and working out what makes sense for us, for this place and for the people we’ve met along the way.

So for now, we’re going to keep making things happen, bringing people together and seeing where it takes us.

And just like that, we’re taking a little break🌿

The last few months have been full of people, ideas, events, laughs, tiredness and so many beautiful moments shared with all of you

Now it’s time for us to slow down a little, put our phones away and take some time for ourselves

We’re getting ready for our first winter of events in Perdifumo, and we’re already excited about everything we have in mind
