Today was our last day in the company of our favorite mouse, Bob.

Dobby.
Robby.
Bobbert.
Robert.
Mr. Mouse.

Our first day with him though was November 30th, 2016 when we adopted him from the Long Beach animal shelter. When I first saw him, his big marble eyes stared back at me as he stood proudly on top of an overturned water bowl in an enclosure. I immediately knew that he was the dog for me.

Now at the end of his life, he proved to be a dog that was as enigmatic as I am as a human: Flawed. Weird interests. Loving. Introverted. Periodically bossy. A homebody.

We love him more than I can adequately express right now, but we both felt remiss to not let people know what was going on. Especially considering how visibly we’ll be wearing this for a while; the hole he left is much larger than the size of his little rat body.
Papa loves you so fucking much dude.

We went to Amoeba today!

Kaputt and Bottomless Pit are a couple records I’ve been looking a long time for so I snatched them both as soon as I saw them. Also picked up Anita Baker’s “Rapture” which is a banger but I just couldn’t find it when I was making this so… 🥴
