The kids are in bed, and I have sauce to do! I am filling my jars up with pizza sauce! Tomatoes from my garden!✨ only got 3 pints. That seems to be my lucky number with these small batches. However, It adds up in the end! šŸ…

Blackberries. I freeze as I pick. Until I have enough to make something with them! They Make the best jam! I don’t really like eating them fresh.

Sweet chirping. Couple days old. So cute isn’t it. Chicks are a commitment. You have to check on them multiple times a day, food, water, heat…But I do enjoy it! Gotta start early because they don’t lay for 5-6 months. When they are coop ready I will need to drop some of my older hens off at the ā€œtrain stationā€ (Yellowstone fans?) to make room for the new layers! šŸ˜…šŸ„¹āœØ it’s bitter sweet! My heck. I do allow myself ONE PET chicken. So. There’s that. This is my 4th or 5th time getting chicks. Those first few years we sure went through a lot of hens. As new chicken owners. I think the first summer… it was 2020- It was a hott one! We lost like 5 hens that summer. I wanted to give up. Haha! They got so stressed… we had tons with prolapsed vents, heat stroke… yadayada! Well it passed. We learn don’t we. Experiences good and bad are valued. I guess that’s the beauty of it anyways. Perspectives are so powerful. šŸŒ±ā¤ļøšŸ’«

Can you believe the address led me here! ✨ All for a banana pup! Facebook marketplace find. I pulled up…It looked like a cute mini farm! There were goats, horses, chickens, roosters crowing. Such a cool little urban homestead. Just the stuff I’m into. She ushers me into her greenhouse to retrieve my banana plant… it was then that my soul left my body and went into a summer tropical land full of humidy and heat. The air was so pure you could smell it. šŸ’« Everything from herbs, tomatoes, aloe vera, grapes, dragon fruit, figs, peanut tree, star fruit, avocados, oranges, lemons, never below 50 degrees. oh ya… that huge banana tree… Truly the most amazing experience with my new friend, I will cherish this forever! I’m still on cloud nine. I’ll update more later!

I have started onions! Three variety’s. White, yellow, and a red! Yummy! Very excited about the white. I always do the yellow sweet Spanish. It’s my favorite bc it stores long and tastes very universal.

New York style bagels were a hit. Took freaking two days to make haha! It wasn’t even sourdough. I’m going to try the sourdough one next. I love creating healthy food for us to eat. You are what you eat! Skip those preservatives and chemicals✨

On the latest episode of PANTRY HUNTERS! ✨

Loving this old tiny bottle of whiskey! Cobb webs and all. If there’s not dead spiders around… it ain’t worth it!

I have an obsession with cleaning out peoples pantries! Food in, food out. It doesn’t matter. I’m your girl. I love to can all sorts of food for my family so free jars is of great value to me!

The lady hit me up, told me her families home in sugar house, SLC needed some help clearing out their old pantry! She confirmed that there were ball and Kerr jars (I don’t want the mayo jars!) So I took off on my voyage. This home was occupied by her family since 1923. So the jars may be dated around then on… one old box was dated 7-13-73. Cool jars! Her grandma and great aunt were the canners in the home. You should of seen the washing machine in this place. Def some good antiques. In which, they were in contact with placing multiple items with antique ā€œhuntersā€. So fun. Lots of spiders. This time no black widows. That’s a win!

Homemade pizza is the best! I made an easy sauce too. Which consisted of just tomatoes, basil, oregano, and olive oil! Not to mention so cheap! My favorite two jacks pizza order costs me about 35 bucks these days when I made about 4 x the amount for under 10.00! I’m totally freezing some for next pizza week too!
