One thing I’m particularly conscious of is making sure I’m eating enough, especially on days I’m strength training, because my goal is to build muscle, not just burn calories. 💪🏼
I don’t always want a protein shake after working out. Sometimes I want something homemade that actually tastes delicious.
So I’ll have a couple of these after training, and then I’ll go home and have a proper lunch. Because for me, recovery isn’t just about what you do in the gym. It’s also about how well you fuel your body afterwards. 🤍
🍌 My post-workout cottage cheese pancakes
Here’s what you’ll need:
♡ 1 very ripe, soft banana, mashed
♡ 1 egg
♡ A pinch of sea salt
♡ 1 tsp cinnamon
♡ 1 tbsp honey
♡ 1 tbsp chia seeds
♡ 4 tbsp almond flour
♡ 4 tbsp cottage cheese
How to make them:
Mix everything together really well until combined. The mixture shouldn’t be too runny you want it thick enough to hold its shape.
Heat a little coconut oil and butter in a pan, then spoon in your mixture to make little pancakes.
Cook for around 2 minutes on each side until golden. Lower the heat as you go to make sure they cook through without burning.
Enjoy! 🥞✨

One thing about me is that I will always find a way to romanticise a grocery shop.

My approach to nutrition is pretty simple: focus on adding more nourishing foods rather than obsessing over what to cut out. Plenty of variety, lots of colour, enough protein and, of course, foods I genuinely enjoy eating.

Because eating well shouldn’t feel like a full-time job.

What’s one thing that ALWAYS makes it into your shopping basket? 🫒

One of the biggest things that helped me get my acne under control was actually eating MORE, not less. 🤍

For years, I was so focused on what I needed to cut out of my diet to improve my skin, when actually I needed to focus on eating enough.

One of the biggest changes I made was prioritising three balanced, satisfying meals a day.

And by balanced, I mean:
🥚 Protein
🥑 Healthy fats
🥦 Fibre
🍠 Carbohydrates (yes, carbs!)

Eating balanced meals helps support more stable blood sugar levels throughout the day, rather than the energy dips that can leave you reaching for sugary, carb-heavy snacks in the evening.

Why does this matter for acne?

Frequent, large insulin spikes can influence IGF-1, a hormone involved in stimulating oil production in the skin, which can contribute to clogged pores and breakouts.

And while blood sugar isn’t the cause of everyone’s acne, supporting insulin regulation can be one helpful piece of the puzzle.

For me, eating enough, being consistent with my meals and stopping the constant restriction made a huge difference to my skin.

Sometimes supporting your skin isn’t about what you take away. It’s about what you start giving your body. ✨

Maybe your first day looks a little different to mine, but believe me, I’ve been there on those bad days too: 💩 all day, headaches, extreme pain, tiredness, weakness, low energy, I’ve had it all.
Send this to someone who struggles with that first day🤍 and try these techniques for yourself too🤍

Personally, I barely caught colds until I started taking my daughter to nursery 😂

But when I do feel one coming on, these are some of the things I reach for and I definitely feel like I recover pretty quickly when I stay on top of them.

And P.S. if the whole family eats a clove of garlic, I like to think the garlic smell cancels itself out 😂🧄

It’s not always about adding more supplements or changing your entire diet, sometimes it’s simply about pairing foods in a way that helps you get more from the meal you’re already eating.

🥩 Steak + lemon/ACV dressing
🥚 Eggs + avocado/olive oil
🍅 Tomatoes + olive oil
🥕 Raw carrot + ACV + olive oil
🥗 Big/fatty meal + bitter greens

Little things, but they can make your meals work a little harder for you 🤍

Save this for your next meal and send it to someone who loves a good nutrition hack.

Three things I’d actually start with if you want to support your nervous system:

1. Magnesium + omega-3s 🧠

Magnesium is involved in normal nervous-system function, while omega-3 fatty acids play an important role in inflammatory pathways.

They’re not magic acne supplements, but they can definitely be helpful for supporting nervous-system function and managing inflammation as part of the bigger picture.

2. Get outside first thing in the morning ☀️

Morning light helps anchor your circadian rhythm, which is closely connected to your cortisol rhythm and sleep.

Even 10–15 minutes outside while you have your morning coffee, walk the dog or do the school run can be a really simple place to start.

3. Figure out what is ACTUALLY stressing you out.

Because only you know what that thing is.

Maybe it’s the colleague who keeps harassing you at work.

Maybe it’s the relationship you know isn’t working.

Maybe it’s the massive lifestyle change you’ve been putting off and deep down, you know it’s the thing causing you constant stress.

You can do all the magnesium, morning sunlight and breathing exercises in the world, but if there’s something in your life that is keeping your nervous system constantly on high alert, deal with the thing.

You don’t need to eliminate every stressor from your life that’s impossible. Your stress response is normal and useful.

But chronic, repeated stress signalling is a different story, and that’s where your skin can start feeling the effects.

Sometimes the most powerful nervous-system practice is actually changing the thing that keeps making you dysregulated in the first place. 🤍
