In 27 years of playing music, I’ve learned that “lifers” are rare. Some bandmates siphon energy or have egos that take up a whole bunk on the bus. But once in a blue moon, the universe puts a musician on your path that you just click with—someone you’re molecularly connected to. I've only experienced that twice in my life, and Stef is one of 'em.

Ten years ago, in a tiny Plateau apartment on Mont-Royal, fueled by enough Marijuana to put down a horse and sugary cocktails in mason jars, we wrote the songs that would become Victories. We weren't chasing hits; we were just two guys writing technical pop-punk that made us feel something.

Life eventually pulled us into different orbits, but when the timing was finally right to return to music, we didn’t half-ass it. We built our dream “Avengers” lineup and brought our songs to the world, but make no mistake: there is no Victories without Stephane Ouellet. The soul of this band comes straight from his fingers, his brain, and his heart.

Stef recently had a tragic accident that means playing alongside him won't look the same for a while. As a bass player and songwriter, playing with him has been a highlight of my career. The road, backstage and the studio wouldn't have been the same with anyone else.

I love you, my brother. I’m wishing you a comfortable recovery. I’m going to hold down the fort until you can get your ass back out here, because we have worked way too hard to get this far.
