Losing Jimmy made change how I viewed documenting memories.

After he was gone I had very little photos and videos to look back at.

Last February the Lord told me to let go of the gym. I didn’t know for how long but I knew He was right.

What had started as something that drew me closer to Him and gave me so much peace had turned into a toxic relationship. I was no longer working out for the right reasons. My head space had become so chaotic. I was so frustrated with my body and when He said to step away I knew He was right. I honestly didn’t even put up a fight bc He is such a good Father and I know He knows what’s best.

A year without the gym, something that had become my identity and an idol, was such a shift. I had been working out for years and truly lost sight of my why.

Having an able body is a blessing. Being able to workout is a blessing. It’s something I’ve only started to miss recently and TYJ the grace has finally returned.

I’m so excited to fall back in love with the gym in a new way. With new vision and a new appreciation for all that God has blessed me with.

It feels so weird being back but the discipline and routine is something I’ve been longing for. TYJ for carrying me through every season. Time to lock in with You 💓 taken in Farmington, Maine by @growthru.co

I can admit I haven’t always been the best role model. There was a long time I wasn’t walking with Jesus and had little eyes looking up to me. What a blessing it is to now know Jesus and share Him with the ones I’m able to influence.

If there’s anything I want the younger generation to know it’s that despite your mess, there is always a way out. And there was always someone standing there with you while you were in it. And His name is Jesus.

We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done. Psalm 78:4

I thought following Jesus meant all of my old ways would end. I thought like Romans 12:2 said, that I would be made new and my desires would change. Don’t get me wrong, a lot has changed but there are things I still struggle with.

Sometimes God has a better testimony to write than just wiping the slate clean. Not to punish you but to show you how much you need Him. His ways are not our ways and I know my Father knows what’s best. James 1:3

I’ve always struggled with lust and I thought for a while I was free of it. So I got lazy in denying my flesh. I let a fox into my vineyard and eventually started recognizing old patterns that I was repeating. It doesn’t happen over night, Satan is smart enough to know it takes time to draw you back into the things you know are bad for you.

Don’t let the enemy bring shame between you and your Dad. Isaiah 54:4
