Add @growupbooks to your Christmas shopping list!

Malik would love to be on someone’s bookshelf.

Nine-year-old Malik loves school, but gets bored easily. He’s both excited and nervous when he learns that he’s “gifted” and that he may be able to attend a school for gifted children. He has dreams of what he’ll be when he grows up, but will find out that he can grow up to be someone beyond his highest aspirations! #ReadingIsFundamental #DareToDream #OpenABook #WhenIGrowUpBooks #TheGrowUpBook #blackchildrensbooks #childrensbooks #blackbooks #blackkidsread #blackwriters #naturalhair #naturalhairkids #booksofmelanin #blackbabybooks #childrensbooksauthor #childrensbooksauthors #childrensbooksauthorsofinstagram by @growupbooks

As a Black author, I found it important to highlight Kitchen Table: Women of Color Press because they paved the way for authors like me!
