For the first time ever, decided to sit on the stairs that lead down to the water under Lion's Gate Bridge. Not even a minute later, ORCAS!

apologies for the loud OMG's but couldn't hold back. I was so close that I could feel the spray from their blows

🐥🦆 Mama duck teaching her ducklings how to climb a fallen branch 🦆🐥 Even a little branch is a big climb when you're so tiny! 🤍

Saw this lovely Mama at Lost Lagoon this past weekend! Her ducklings were so small, they must have been only a couple of days old. She is such a good mom, teaching them the ways of the lagoon! The ducklings were learning quickly and she was so patient with them.

So special to share moments with these little ones around Stanley Park! 🐥🪾

🐰🍓 my bunny's garden-to-table dinner 🍓🐰 this our first garden harvest of the season! I harvested strawberries, strawberry leafs, nasturtium, cilantro, and pansies, it was such a bountiful first harvest🌱🥬. I think the bunnies liked it!

Sharing the gifts of the land with Bonbon and Coco is one of my most beloved parts of gardening🐰💛

I've been whale watching in Vancouver for two years. I've always wanted to watch them from Lions Gate Bridge but heights are my BIGGEST fear... so I have been talking myself out of going up the bridge and watching from the shore...

This Saturday I finally did it. I walked up the bridge! Not because I suddenly got brave, but because I love these animals. I love them to the point of facing my biggest fear. 🐳

I climbed up once, got scared, came back down. But then climbed back up again. I just had to do it, for them.

I was brave and the orcas rewarded me with the BEST sighting of my life! Four of them surfacing right below me. A calf too! I will never forget this experience and the lesson these whales taught me: be brave, it's worth it!!!

This is day 10 of trying to get you to garden with me🪴🪏...

It's been so good to watch my cucamelons and habaneros sprout. I was honestly really nervous about them both and to see them growing has been a relief! However, just like these seedlings, it's not enough to just "get going". With growth comes responsibility, and for these seedlings, that will look like up-potting, thinning out, and hardening off. Happening soon!

Let me know if you'd like to hear my Do's and Don'ts of growing your own garden. Indoor, outdoor, windowsill--I've grown them all.

A good friend taught me that "seeds know what to do" and it's clearly so true! 4 days ago this tray was just soil and a dream, and now it's a living patch of hope for the season to come.

🫛🍅🌸Peas, tomatoes, and cosmos are already eagerly waking up. Watching them sprout reminds me that there is abundance around me, and reminds me of my Grandma's teaching that the plants are "agradecidas", or grateful, and gift us life and beauty when we help them thrive.

If you haven't sprouted any seeds yet, do not worry: You can still direct sow them into the ground, find established seedlings (check your local nurseries or ask your friends!), or buy yourself some potted flowers and get to know them. Meet plants wherever you're at!🪴💐

Last spring I moved into a new building which has... community garden plots 🪻🥬🐝

This is my growing journey from last season, going from an empty patch of soil in April to a thriving city garden. By September, I had more tomatoes, cucumbers and flowers than I knew what to do with!🍅

Not only did I begin growing food - I began growing myself alongside my plants. As I took care of my rooted friends, they started to care for me in return. Every plant became a teacher, and every harvest a reward for my learning.

This is what a hope-giving hobby can do!

This is the beginning of my growing season # 2. I'm taking you all along the ride, from seed to table and everything in between. Take this is as your sign to plant a garden, or follow me and join as I discover more healthy hobbies. Come grow with me! 🌱👩‍🌾
