We’re so excited that we’re opening on 1st February 2026!✨✨

What was once a quiet, timeworn heritage space has slowly been brought back to life. Over the past few months, we’ve poured our hearts into planning, restoring, and caring for this place — always trying to honour its history while imagining how it could be lived in again.

And it’s finally time for us to announce the opening of Grumpy Bagels 1905, set within the historic Diesel Room at Sentul Depot. A space to slow down, sit awhile, and enjoy good bagels in a building that holds so many stories.

Boss wasn’t around, so we left Grumpy Bear in charge… what could possibly go wrong?👀

At Grumpy Bagels, we’ve always believed it’s never just about the bagels. It’s the little things, the people you meet, the moments you share, and all the fun in between that make up the whole Grumpy experience.

POV: You walk into our kitchen and catch us making one of our bestsellers.🥯💜

Our Taro Mochi Bagel has been one of your favourites for a while now, and every batch is still made the same way. We start with our bagel dough, fill it generously with earthy taro and chewy mochi, then shape each one by hand before they’re boiled and baked.

There’s something about that soft taro filling and stretchy mochi tucked inside a warm, chewy bagel that just works.

We all know bagels and cream cheese belong together. That’s pretty much a given.🥯

And sometimes, there’s no need to reinvent a classic. Our Maple Walnut Cream Cheese brings together creamy cream cheese, the gentle sweetness of maple, and crunchy walnuts for that familiar sweet and nutty combination we’ll never get tired of.

Chocolate, but make it triple.🍫

We wanted this one for the real chocolate lovers, so we found the perfect ratio of dark and milk chocolate and turned it into our Triple Chocolate bagel.

Three layers of chocolate in every bite, topped with almond flakes for a bit of crunch.

Rich, comforting, a little too much in the best way for the days when one chocolate just won’t do it. Sometimes more really is more.🐻🤎 by @grumpybagels

Every Merdeka, we find ourselves coming back to the flavours we grew up with.🇲🇾

And satay has always been one of those flavours that feels unmistakably Malaysian, and it’s something we’ve all shared around the table at some point.

So we brought our Satay Bagel back as our little tribute to a Malaysian favourite, combining something we love making with a flavour that feels close to home.
