Rēgi Interview #98: Sludge/Doom/Post-Metal From Latvia – Patricia Hosts

Rēgi is a sludge/doom/post-metal band from Cēsis, Latvia, formed in 2025. The band's name, "Rēgi," translates to "Ghosts" in Latvian.

Remaining independent, Rēgi has quickly established its identity through a heavy blend of crushing sludge, oppressive doom, and immersive post-metal soundscapes. In 2026, the band released the singles "Ārā" and "Nodevējs", followed by their self-titled debut full-length album, Rēgi.

In this episode of Infernal Conversations, our guest host Patrícia (@p.lateralus9) sits down with the band to discuss the story behind Rēgi, their creative process, musical influences, songwriting, and the vision that drives their music.

Patrícia is a Brazilian psychologist, digital creator, and passionate supporter of underground and extreme metal. Combining her professional expertise in human behavior with her deep appreciation for music, she brings a unique perspective to artist interviews. As a guest interviewer for Black Metal Artists, she explores the stories behind the bands—their artistic visions, inspirations, and the personal experiences that shape their work.

A lifelong admirer of Tool, Patrícia also enjoys the darker and heavier sides of metal, with favorite bands including Watain, Draconian, and Meshuggah.
