The popular and the mundane become materials for design, turning the city into both subject and archive. At FORMA with Grutta, Ximi presents PARADA SOLICITADA and L2_01, two pieces that translate Madrid’s public transport into domestic objects. PARADA SOLICITADA is a seat inspired by the interiors of Madrid’s interurban buses, conceived as a tribute to the city. L2_01 is a floor lamp from TRANSBORDOS, a family of pieces derived from the routes and colors of the Madrid metro lines, bringing a graphic system into three-dimensional form through structure, line, and hue.#FORMA #GruttaCollective #MadridDesignFestival by @gruttacollective

Come meet us at stand B3 and discover the pieces in person from March 5–8 at Matadero Madrid.Featuring @jss.msgr and @repartostudio. Jesús Meseguer is an architect based in Madrid whose work sits between design and research, focusing on environmental practices and new material ecologies across scales, from public space to objects and experimental work.At FORMA with Grutta, they present TUNING - Car Lamp, part of the broader TUNING Collection, a collaboration that reimagines found automotive elements as a furniture kit, inspired by objects that might appear in an outdoor after-party. With an emphasis on recycle, reuse, and reduce, the project treats tuning as both a cultural reference and an action of adjustment: previously used structures are reassembled into new configurations using scrapped fragments sourced from car workshops.#FORMA #GruttaCollective #MadridDesignFestival by @gruttacollective

Grutta is taking part in FORMA with a curated selection of contemporary design and author pieces, with a focus on materiality, craftsmanship, and process. Come meet us at stand B3 and discover the pieces in person from March 5–8 at Matadero Madrid.Featuring @isabel_._alonso, a Spanish designer and LAHP-funded PhD candidate at the Royal College of Art in London. Isabel approaches design as collaborative, research-led, and experimental, using it to investigate cultural and ecological questions. Narrative, material honesty, and sensitive composition are consistent through-lines in the work.At FORMA with Grutta, Isabel presents Italic candleholder, a floor-standing piece that reframes candlelight as a domestic ritual rather than a functional substitute for modern lighting. Built from three detachable stainless-steel elements, a heavy base, a standard threaded rod, and a hollow cylinder that cradles a tealight, the design makes the candle appear to almost disappear while keeping the flame clearly visible. The subtle sway created when lighting or extinguishing adds movement and attention, turning simple gestures into a reflective, sensory experience.#FORMA #GruttaCollective #MadridDesignFestival by @gruttacollective

Come meet us at stand B3 and discover the pieces in person from March 5–8 at Matadero Madrid.Featuring @elenarocabert & @mrtaochoa, both trained as architects, who completed their master’s theses at ETSAM (Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid). Their collaborative practice moves across object design, spatial interventions, and scenography. Through experiments with material, construction techniques, and light, they create ethereal works that invite multiple readings, with a playful approach that often addresses gender and perception. At FORMA with Grutta, they present Bird lamp, a piece inspired by the interpretive logic of the Rorschach test, where abstract forms prompt viewers to project meaning. The lamp’s silhouette suggests wings and hybrid creatures, balancing fragility and intensity through contrast and composition. It is built from two joined pieces of lacquered wood, with a white linen shade that softens the light and reinforces the object’s quiet, atmospheric presence.#FORMA #GruttaCollective #MadridDesignFestival by @gruttacollective

With a background in the materials field, Carlota has also advised luxury-sector firms on the selection and use of raw materials. At FORMA with Grutta, Carlota presents 10+1 stool, a one-of-a-kind bench conceived as a speculative design artifact. Rather than aligning with the logic of mass production or competing with established modern icons, the project proposes another way for an object to circulate and create impact. Come meet us at stand B3 and discover the pieces in person from March 5–8 at Matadero Madrid.Featuring @andreamorenorts, whose practice spans small and large-scale objects, ceramics, and material research. Andrea’s work draws from traditional craft knowledge while developing a personal visual language. In 2021, Andrea joined La Cuarta Piel, a collective of art and architecture, and opened a ceramics workshop in Alicante with Loli Moloni. Recent work focuses on local materials and the stories they carry, from testing the ground beneath the city to working with wild clays that speak to territorial tensions. At FORMA with Grutta, Andrea presents Ceremony Fountain and Jar 0001, two pieces designed around shared rituals of water and collective use. Ceremony Fountain brings together a six-spouted fountain, six glasses, and a serving bottle, combining playful deception-pottery references with a functional, celebratory spirit.
