The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Xi Tau Chapter, are saddened to announce the passing of charter member Pearl Bro. Roderick Banks, who transitioned to the Omega Chapter on July 9th, 2026.

As a charter member, Pearl Banks helped establish the foundation of Xi Tau, leaving behind a legacy of brotherhood, leadership, and service that will continue to inspire generations. Though he has entered the Omega Chapter, his legacy will forever live on through the Brothers of Xi Tau.

We are saddened to announce, today the Xi Tau Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. laid a young brother to rest. Bro. Jeremiah Ezekiel Perkins (Spring ‘21 - 4) fought a long battle with cancer and unfortunately transitioned on June 21st 2022.

Bro. Perkins was the light in the room and we will continue to uphold his legacy knowing that the cup will always be half full. We will always find peace knowing that he has moved on to everlasting happiness. #LLJP4 🖤🕊 by @gsualphas

Happy 46th Charter Day to the Xi Tau Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated!

This weekend was a great celebration of 46 years of brotherhood, scholarship, leadership, and service. We were especially honored to celebrate alongside PEARL Bro. Curtis Woody, PEARL Bro. Wayman Aldridge, PEARL Bro. Crandall Ortiz Jones, PEARL Bro. Billy Ray Hightower, and PEARL Bro. Charles Wynn, whose legacy, dedication, and lifelong commitment continue to inspire generations of Xi Tau men. Brothers from different generations came together to reconnect, tour Georgia Southern University, engage with undergraduate Brothers and faculty, honor the memory of our beloved departed Brothers, serve the local community at Heritage Inn Health & Rehabilitation, and enjoy meaningful fellowship throughout the day.

This past weekend, the brothers of the Xi Tau Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. proudly volunteered during the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program Move-In Day at Georgia Southern University. As talented high school students from across Georgia arrived on campus for this summer’s program, our brothers assisted with unloading belongings, welcoming participants, and helping ensure a smooth start to their month-long experience. Congratulations to Bro. Unah on earning 1st Place – Paulson College of Engineering Top Eagle Award (Undergraduate) at the Georgia Southern University 2026 Student Research Symposium. His senior capstone project, “Embedded Thermal Regulation System for Smart Defroster Applications,” highlights innovation, precision, and real-world impact, addressing the issue of excessive vehicle idling and energy waste. This achievement was made alongside his project partners, Ola Victor and Jalen Mordica, and was presented by Rami Haddad.
