by @guangyangart

Faith, power, and the hypocrisy hidden behind civilization.
At the center is a multi-faced black goat. It resembles Satan, but is not Satan. It is a “demon” created by civilization — an “other” labeled evil, hated, and excluded. Wounded and stained with blood at its horns, it remains ambiguous: perpetrator or victim given the name of “evil”?
Religious architecture and ritual objects represent faith, history, and the sacred. Yet beneath them lie corpses, bones, blood, and rotting earth. Once the sacred is used by power, it can become a justification for violence.
Blue butterflies rest on the corpses, drinking blood. Beautiful and almost sacred, they feed on death. Beauty, holiness, civilization, and violence have never truly been separate.

When a group claims to represent justice and holiness, it often needs an “other.” Once that other is called evil, violence against them can be called justice.

Perhaps the black goat is not the real demon.

**The true desecration is creating death in the name of the sacred, then calling the monster you created evil.

A glimpse into the early process of creating the album cover art for @spentcasehc . I already worked out a digital draft beforehand (will post that later), so now it’s all about translating it onto the canvas. As I paint, more spontaneous brushstrokes and lively expressions come through — some details might even evolve along the way. But the overall direction won‘t stray too far, which is exactly why the digital sketch is so crucial — it keeps everything on track and ensures the rest of the process flows smoothly. 🎨 by @guangyangart
