I’ve realized that growing as a videomaker, as a filmmaker, isn’t just about learning how to do new things.

It’s also about understanding how you want to work, what your needs are, and most importantly, which gear actually makes sense for you.

Because over time, your skills grow, the projects you work on change, and naturally, so does the gear you carry with you.

And as a creator, I’ve realized that gear isn’t simply something you use to get the job done.

In a way, it also reflects your workflow, your approach, and the path you’re on.

That’s why, as I’ve grown, I’ve started choosing my gear much more consciously.

That’s where my collaboration with @sak.global started, taking their SAK V2 with me on one of my trips.

What I appreciated most is how much space it offers, especially considering it’s designed for people working with a lot of photo and video gear.

But I noticed the difference the most while traveling. Having everything I need in a backpack this spacious, while still being comfortable to carry, made moving around so much easier.

At the end of the day, gear doesn’t make you grow.

You grow, and you learn to choose what can grow with you.

I’ve always loved versatility.

Being quick, comfortable, and able to carry everything I need without taking up too much space is essential for me, especially when I’m travelling.

That’s why I was honestly surprised by the ULANZI JJ06 GlideGo Carbon Camera. It’s incredibly compact and takes up almost no space in my bag, but once you open it up, it still gives you a really good working height.

So you end up with a tripod that’s compact, versatile, and easy to take anywhere. For me, it’s a great companion for filming on the go.

Ciao Mamma,

da piccolo eri sempre tu a farmi la valigia.

Poi ovviamente ho dovuto iniziare a prepararmela da solo.

E ho sempre pensato che, alla fine, una valigia fosse… una valigia.

Ci metti dentro le cose, la chiudi (possibilmente senza sedertici sopra) e parti.

Poi @combag__ mi ha accompagnato fino ad Alghero e devo ammettere che mi sono un po’ ricreduto.

Perché qualche tempo fa ho sentito una frase che mi è rimasta impressa:

“Circondatevi di cose belle.”

E forse è proprio vero.

Belle cose, bei posti, belle persone, belle culture.

Tutto quello che ci circonda, in qualche modo, ci fa crescere.

Poi oh…

alla fine è sempre una valigia.

Però adesso è una valigia che mi piace parecchio. 😂

La Sardegna nasconde alcuni dei suoi angoli più belli… e non ci si arriva in auto.

Ci sono calette, spiagge selvagge e acque turchesi che si possono raggiungere solo via mare.

Noleggia una barca con @playanatural e vivi una giornata alla scoperta di luoghi che tanti turisti non riescono nemmeno a vedere.

Le date più richieste finiscono in fretta, quindi prenota per tempo.

Hai mai provato un senso di libertà talmente forte da non desiderare altro che una vita “leggera”?

Per noi è stato così quando siamo partiti per la Sardegna con la Air Sky 360 di @autohome_official. L’obiettivo del viaggio era realizzare un video spot capace di trasmettere vibes come libertà, natura, avventura, passione.

Siamo tornati a casa con un’esperienza che ci ha arricchito da diversi punti di vista. E ne è uscito questo video incredibile ✨

A day in the life of a filmmaker.

It starts with a good coffee, some good music in the background (which, in real life, I manage to listen to for about 30 seconds 😂) and then it’s time to get to work.

A thousand things to do, a thousand ideas coming in at the same time, notifications, messages, distractions… and of course, the most important part: spending hours in front of the computer trying to make sense of everything I’ve shot.

I recently changed and upgraded my workspace, and as I start this new chapter, there’s a new presence that has quickly become part of my everyday routine: my MUSSO X700.

Quando una scena mi colpisce, la prima cosa che mi chiedo è:

“Cosa mi sta facendo provare?”

A volte è un dettaglio.

A volte è la grandezza di un luogo.

A volte sono semplicemente i colori.

Quando conosci le regole diventa più facile trasmettere quella sensazione anche agli altri.

Poi arriva il montaggio, il colore, il suono.

Ed è lì che tutto inizia a prendere forma.

Per me è una specie di magia.

Tanti piccoli dettagli che, messi insieme, riescono a trasformare una semplice ripresa in qualcosa che ti lascia addosso una sensazione.

Funziona così:
Immagine 👉🏻 Percezione 👉🏻 Emozione

Alla fine non mostriamo semplicemente un’immagine.

Comunichiamo un’emozione che abbiamo vissuto, una sensazione, un punto di vista.

Mi capitano quelle giornate dove veramente vorrei mettermi a fare di tutto fuorché editare e stare davanti al computer.

È andata proprio così…

Il mio fratellino premeva REC mentre noi correvamo giù da una montagna.

A un certo punto ci siamo accorti che il sole stava scendendo e che era venuto fuori questo bellissimo mood. Così ci siamo seduti tutti e tre.

E mi sono accorto che in quel momento non stavo più pensando alla camera, non stavo più pensando al video. Stavo letteralmente vivendo il momento.

E ogni volta che riguardo questa ripresa dico: “Cavoli, è stato veramente magico quel momento”. E in un certo senso lo è ancora.

Però so anche che non si ripeterà più. Perché penso che un momento sia proprio questo: unico. Non sarà mai replicabile alla stessa maniera.

Per questo penso che le cose più belle siano anche quelle più semplici. Un momento passato insieme a una persona a cui vuoi bene, una risata, un tramonto sono piccoli istanti che mentre le vivi sembrano normali, ma poi, sono proprio quelli che ti rimangono dentro.

Ed è proprio per questo che bisogna vivere appieno ogni singolo momento, perché non si ripeterà più.

Siamo sempre alla ricerca della perfezione, ma in realtà le cose più belle sono proprio quelle più semplici.
