SAPD has shown for years their police department is incompetent to handle escalating situations and city council is incompetent to hold them accountable, as long as the POA is in their pockets 💸. Just this year, SAPD was given a $165 MILLION budget, Community Development gets $3 Million, Fire & Emergency $62 Million….our Police Dept takes the most of our cities money.

The fact that these cops keep abusing their power, killing children like 15 year old Jaden Michaca, who was experiencing a mental health crisis, and the city just awards them with more money is a slap in the face to every Santanero. Don’t forget Valerie Amezcua also refused to allocate Police Dept $$ to the emergency fund made for Immigrant Families.

$165,882,960….and they don’t provide de escalation courses? There’s no psych evaluation to see if these people are fit to SERVE THE COMMUNITY? Do you just hire abusers, give them a gun and badge as long as they pass a fitness test?

@santaana_pd along w our city council, we demand that you fire the officers involved and charge them.
