GUE Seattle’s Shahein Moussavi and Travis Eiler were featured in The Seattle Times after encountering dead fish—including federally protected Chinook salmon—while diving beneath the I-90 light rail bridge in Lake Washington.

As divers, we have a unique view of what’s happening beneath the surface of our local waters. Observations like these can help bring attention to changes in the underwater environments we dive, explore, and care about.

We’re proud to see members of our local dive community helping bring visibility to what’s happening below the surface.

If you don’t form relationships with local community, You’re failing.
If you don’t have that kind of sense of ownership by the local community of these conservative projects. As the pressure on any parks go around the world.
The local communities are sort of the last line of defense.

If your drysuit has those sample-size pockets 😂, trimming down your Wetnotes makes them way easier to access.

Tiny modification, much easier reach. 🤿

Repost from GUEHQ: Congratulations to James Fraser, GUE’s newest Tech 1 instructor in Washington, USA!

https://www.gue.com/diver-training/gue-instructors/instructor-resume?id=26718

From James:
I began diving in 1992, quickly turning a curiosity into a lifelong pursuit of skill, discipline, and exploration. I became a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer in 1998 and a NAUI Scuba Instructor in 2017, building a foundation not just in diving, but in teaching others to do it well.

For nearly 30 years, the Pacific Northwest has been my home underwater. I truly love diving here—its challenging conditions have shaped who I am as a diver. Just as important is my passion for instructing and supporting the local diving community, helping others grow in confidence and capability.

In 2018, after my wife and dive teammate Deana introduced me to GUE, I found a renewed commitment to continuous improvement. That path led me to become a GUE Fundamentals Instructor and Technical Diver 1 Instructor. This summer, I’ll continue that journey in Finale Ligure, Italy, working toward my CCR2 certification.

Diving, for me, is about constant learning, strong community, and a deep connection to the underwater world. by @gue_seattle
