It was an honor to work with the @chicagoscholars foundation again and to have DJ’d the event at the Obama Presidential Center. No doubt one of the highlights of my year, I’m blessed to be a part of events like this. S/o to the Millikin fam @gorgeously_made_ for trusting me with the opportunity. Black and Bronze fest 2026 🥉🖤

I was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, so getting the opportunity to be the Main Stage DJ for Black & Bronze Fest meant a ton to me.

This wasn’t just another gig. This was culture. Community. Music. Creativity. Chicago. All things that have played a part in making me who I am today.

At one point during the fest, I looked out from the stage and really took in the thousands of people across the park. People dancing, singing, doing line dances, moving to some Chicago house music, cheering on the performers and just enjoying each other. There was so much love and positive energy out there.

And I had one of those moments like “Wow, I’m really up here doing this.” 😂

What makes this one even more special is knowing that a few years ago, I might’ve seen an opportunity like this and thought, “Man, that would be dope,” without ever actually believing it was within reach.

This time I stretched myself.

I submitted the video. I interviewed. I stayed with it. I prepared. And when the opportunity came, I was ready for it.

Preparation met opportunity.

Huge thank you to @jessicalarel and everyone behind Black & Bronze Fest for creating something that celebrates our culture, our city, our talent and our community. Thank you for seeing something in me and bringing me into this opportunity. And thank you @moremikigrace for absolutely killing it as host and being an amazing person to share that stage with.

Much love to every artist, performer, poet, singer, musician, vendor, sound/video crew member and person behind the scenes who helped make the day what it was.

And of course, thank you Chicago. ❤️

I’ve still got work to do. Still have places I want to go. Still have ways I want to grow.

But now I can say I’ve DJ’d a major festival in my hometown. 💯🙏🏽 taken in Chicago, Illinois by @guice__ent
