You want to adventure but you don't want to go alone.
Walks, climbs, canyoning and more across the UK.
Qualified guides.
Adventure with us 🙌

POSTS STORIES REELS

Ever looked at an adventure rated 5/10 and wondered whether you’d be fit enough?

You’re not alone.

One thing we’ve learnt from talking to our customers is that uncertainty about difficulty, fitness and pace can stop people booking an adventure they’d really enjoy.

But difficulty isn’t just about distance.

Terrain, ascent, technical skills and conditions all play a part. And a challenging adventure doesn’t necessarily mean a fast pace.

That’s why every adventure on Guided Outdoor Adventures has a difficulty rating assessed by the guide.

Whether you’re considering a guided walk, climbing, mountain biking or trying something completely new, we want you to understand what you’re signing up for.

And here’s something you might not know.

Every adventure has an Ask the Guide feature.

Not sure you’ll keep up? Wondering whether you need previous experience? Simply ask the qualified outdoor professional leading the adventure before you book.

You don’t have to work it out alone.

The Cheshire Walking Festival is coming to Alderley Edge on Saturday 3 April 2027, and walks are now available to book.

Eight to ten guided walks setting off from our festival headquarters at the De Trafford Arms throughout the day. Beginners, families, dog walkers, women-only groups, navigation tasters, and the Barry Clark Challenge Walk at 12 miles for those who want a serious day out. Every walk starts and finishes in the village. Every walk is led by a qualified guide.

The festival raises money for Christie’s Cancer Charity, Cheshire Search and Rescue, and Guided Outdoor Adventuring CIC. Supported by Alderley Edge Parish Council.

Let me introduce myself properly, it has been a while and we have some new followers.

I’m Julia. Solo founder of Guided Outdoor Adventures. I live in Cheshire and I have never worked so hard on anything in my life. GOA is built on drive, passion, and love. Nothing else.

One goal. The outdoors should be for everyone.

Swipe to meet the person behind the platform.

My parents showed me the outdoors when I was young. This is me with my dad and brothers, 27 years ago somewhere in the hills. He passed away last week. The outdoors was always just part of life in our family. He made sure of that. Everything I have built started here.

#GuidedOutdoorAdventures #GuidedWalksUK #OutdoorFamily #HikingUK #NavigateWithWisdom

I have never once got wet on a walk. Obviously. What I have learned is that the best days out are rarely the ones with perfect weather. They are the ones where you go anyway. Waterproofs mandatory. Good company essential.

#GuidedOutdoorAdventures #GuidedWalksUK #UKHiking #WalkingInTheRain #OutdoorAdventuresUK

I have done radio. Podcasts. Been featured in Women’s Own magazine. Two years ago I was a woman with an idea and absolutely no roadmap. Now GOA has 74 qualified guides, thousands of adventures booked, and a community of people who have found their way back outside. I am still pinching myself.

#GuidedOutdoorAdventures #WomenInBusiness #OutdoorAdventuresUK #GuidedWalksUK #UKFounder

I pitched my business to investors. Not to find one. To do something that scared me. To get out of my comfort zone, understand how business people think, and prove to myself that I could walk into a room full of people who speak a completely different language and hold my own. Doing the scary thing anyway is exactly what GOA is built on.

#GuidedOutdoorAdventures #WomenInBusiness #ConfidenceGap #OutdoorAdventuresUK #UKFounder

In two years I have shown hundreds of people the most beautiful sunrise from Alderley Edge in Cheshire. Strangers who arrived in the dark and left as something else entirely. This is exactly why I built Guided Outdoor Adventures.

Fancy taking your cycling beyond roads and cycle paths?

Off-road cycling opens up a completely different way to explore the countryside.

But riding across bridleways, loose stones and uneven ground requires different skills from everyday cycling.

If you’re thinking about trying longer off-road adventures, three things are worth working on:

1. Bike handling. Practise controlling your bike on different surfaces, including loose gravel and uneven tracks.

2. Climbing and descending. Rolling hills require stamina, balance and confidence managing your speed.

3. Time in the saddle. Build up your distance gradually so you’re comfortable riding for several hours.

And once you’ve built that confidence, there’s a lot of countryside waiting to be explored.

Take Steve Edmed’s Experience The South Downs cycling adventure.

Starting in Winchester, this guided ride explores the South Downs National Park, with flowing trails, rolling hills and far-reaching views.

The full route is approximately 30 miles, with the option of a shorter 13-mile loop.

Experience The South Downs
Winchester, Hampshire
4–5 hours | Moderate, 4/10
£49 per person | Maximum 6 riders

This experience is for cyclists with reasonable fitness and existing mountain bike handling skills.

Would you rather explore the countryside on foot or on two wheels?

Sometimes the best thing you can do is get outside and slow down.

Not every walk needs to be about covering miles, reaching summits or pushing yourself further.

Sometimes it’s about good company, fresh air and taking a proper break from everyday life.

Join guide Sara Ginn for a Winter Wellbeing Walk exploring Rushup Edge and Mam Tor in the Peak District.

Sara loves helping people notice the smaller details of the landscape, the things we often walk straight past when we’re rushing to get somewhere.

Expect beautiful Peak District scenery, friendly conversation and time to appreciate being outdoors.

The walk covers approximately 10.5km over around five hours, with a mixture of hill paths and uneven terrain. There are some uphill sections, but the pace is relaxed, with opportunities to pause and enjoy the views.

Saturday 28 November | 9am
Edale, Peak District
10.5km | Approximately 5 hours
£25 per person | Dogs welcome

Whether you’re joining on your own or with someone else, it’s an opportunity to enjoy a day outdoors without feeling you have to rush.

Fancy giving yourself a day in the Peak District this winter?

✍️ Shared stories of romantic poet William Wordsworth as we passed by two of his former homes
☀️ Relaxed in the sun by pretty Alcock Tarn
⛰️ Traversed the hillside to the Wainwright summit of Nab Scar
🥪 Picnicked with stunning views to Rydal Water, Fairfield Horseshoe and a Lakeland panorama
💧Spotted signs of the Thirlmere aqueduct passing through the hillside
⚰️ Followed the ancient Coffin Route

… and returned for delicious coffee and cake at @rydalcoffeecave ☕️🍰 by @guidedoutdooradventures

Meet Ilaria, the woman behind Healing Through Hiking.

In 2019, after a difficult relationship, Ilaria turned to the mountains.

Hiking became a way for her to reconnect with herself, rebuild her confidence and rediscover the joy of being outdoors.

Today, Ilaria brings together her experience in outdoor leadership and trauma coaching to help other women discover what spending time in nature can mean to them.

Through her monthly Healing Through Hiking walks in the Peak District, she creates opportunities for women affected by narcissistic relationships to walk, connect and spend time with others who understand their experiences.

There’s no pressure to share personal stories. Just an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in a supportive group.

Ilaria also leads women’s hiking adventures, helping people explore new places and build confidence in the hills.

We’re pleased to have Ilaria as part of the Guided Outdoor Adventures community.

And she’ll be leading a special 12-mile Healing Through Hiking walk at the Cheshire Walking Festival on 3 April 2027.

Discover Ilaria’s walks and adventures through Guided Outdoor Adventures.
