This month, Guilford County SBED is highlighting Meyakka Sturdivant, FOunder and CEO of MS Consultant Solutions @ms_consultantsolutions, a consulting agency dedicated to helping small business owners build stronger, more sustainable businesses. MS Consultant Solutions provides business development consulting, brand and marketing strategy, certification and procurement support, technical and administrative assistance, and business coaching. Meyakka helps entrepreneurs strengthen their foundation, increase visibility, and grow strategically. Meyakka’s entrepreneurial journey began after more than 22 years in corporate technology and telecommunications. Following a corporate layoff during the COVID-19 pandemic, she decided to build something of her own. What began as Klassy Business Consultant eventually evolved into MS Consultant Solutions. Now seven years into her business journey, Meyakka credits knowledge, experience, relationship-building, referrals, and the quality of her work for her continued growth. She also emphasizes being intentional about the relationships entrepreneurs build and the opportunities they pursue. One lesson Meyakka wants entrepreneurs to remember is that their experience is part of their brand. She encourages business owners to recognize the skills, expertise, personality, and problem-solving abilities they have developed throughout their careers and use those strengths to build their businesses. Her advice to entrepreneurs just getting started is simple: “Don’t be afraid to keep learning while you leap.” She encourages business owners to remain patient and flexible, continue learning, build relationships, and surround themselves with people who can help them grow. Looking ahead, Meyakka is focused on expanding MS Consultant Solutions, reaching more entrepreneurs, developing new programs and partnerships, and creating solutions that help small business owners build with confidence and purpose. Her biggest piece of advice?
