POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This year, I’ve completed 15 years of creating search & find illustrations. 2025 is also when I will be publishing my first book through @cidermillpress & @harpercollinsfocus . So, it’s about time to share with you a bit more about me!

From my first illustrations for educational books in Brazil, to my recent artworks for The Washington Post, WB Games, and @harpercollins , I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to develop a visual style I truly love. Search & find is a work of discipline. But I always find myself laughing while drawing jokes, Easter eggs and researching details to each illustration.

And I wouldn’t have come this far without the help of the two people I admire the most in the world: my wife @giselejota and my son Gabriel. Gisele is the love of my life and has always been my main supporter in all areas, long before I started my international career. From bringing the best ideas and solutions to our daily family challenges, to cheering me up so I can overcome any personal difficulties, she’s been helping me for years as my biggest inspiration, closest editor, photographer, social media consultant, idea giver, and much more! From spending nights working together, to last-minute feedback, I can’t count the times Gisele saw an artwork I was struggling with and, with just a few words, helped me solve what wasn’t working. Thank you, Gi, for all your love and support: your intelligence, sensitivity and passion have made my life so much more meaningful through all these years. Te ame.

To my son Gabriel: thanks for making me learn so much with your curiosity and ability to see things in so many different and funny angles. It’s a privilege to see you grow and become such a good and intelligent person, with an accurate eye for details in art and life. Some days ago, while I was drawing, Gabriel asked: “Dad, shouldn’t you make the red stripes on this candy cane more diagonal?”. I love you and I’m excited for all new things our family will keep building together!

For those who don’t know much about my work, hope you like seeing more about my process in the next posts! See you!

I like to see my search & find work as an opportunity to create different worlds. In a single drawing, you can find a variety of relationships between characters, with their environment, and even different laws of physics: it’s like all the worlds I wanted to live in as a child are now made possible by blending lines, colors and ideas.

Especially over the last 10 years, I’ve been fortunate to work with great clients who trusted my vision and shared their characters, stories and universes with me, so I could bring my own creative twist to them.
