Bhit Shah was one of those projects that was as much fun as it was difficult.

Trying to capture the soul of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s shrine. The music, the people, the rituals, the energy, and all the little moments happening around it was a challenge in itself.

You can’t really ask a place like Bhit Shah to slow down for the camera. You just have to be there, observe, and try to capture it as honestly as you can.

A beautiful few days of chasing moments, stories, and sounds in Bhit Shah.

Baba Island isn't far from Karachi — but it might as well be a world away.

No roads connect it to the mainland. No clean water runs through it. Barely any basic amenities exist here at all. This is home to a community of fishermen folk — people who have given everything to the sea, and in return, been given almost nothing back. Their children grow up watching the horizon, with little idea of what lies beyond it.

But every single morning, before the city even wakes up, a small boat sets off from Karachi's coast. It doesn't carry fishermen. It carries teachers.

In collaboration with Martin Dow, a group of people cross that water daily — rain or shine, tide or no tide — just to make sure the children of Baba Island have something no one offered them before: a classroom, a chance, and the belief that where you're born doesn't have to decide where you end up.

Iqbal spent a lifetime writing about the khudi — the self — that rises when it's given the courage to dream. On Baba Island, that self is rising one lesson at a time.

It's not a grand gesture. It's a boat ride, made every single day, by people who simply refused to look away.

I made this film in Lyari, a place where football is more than just a game, it is a dream that lives in every street. The FIFA World Cup @fifaworldcup brings a different energy here, from kids playing with passion to elders sharing the same love for the sport. They may not have the biggest grounds, facilities, or support, but they carry talent, dedication, and the hope of one day representing Pakistan on a bigger stage.

With every painted street, every flag, and every corner filled with life, Lyari shows that dreams don’t need perfect conditions to exist. They just need passion. This journey was a reminder that some of the greatest stories are hidden in the places where people keep believing, even when nobody is watching.

This fascination led him into a rigorous ten-year apprenticeship, a decade of patience where he learned the delicate balance of pressure, heat, and steel. Now, with 45 years of experience etched into his hands, he stands as a master craftsman whose expertise is a bridge between the old world and the new, proving that true skill is built over a lifetime, not overnight.

The versatility of his workshop is a testament to his evolution. His grindstone has touched the humble knives of local bun kabab carts and the sophisticated, imported machinery of five-star hotel kitchens. The Heritage Walk Karachi at Pakistan Chowk was a beautiful reminder of the city’s timeless soul. Organized by @shahnau , the walk brought together people who care deeply about culture, history, and the stories hidden within old walls. From colonial era facades to intricately designed balconies and wooden doors, every corner reflected the rich architectural character that makes Karachi unique. It was not just a walk through streets, but a journey through time.

The initiative for this meaningful experience was taken by @master_mm , whose dedication to preserving heritage architecture continues to inspire many. Through this walk, participants were able to truly see and appreciate the artistic details, craftsmanship, and historical significance of the buildings around them.
