ā€œI felt like no one really understood my reflux, not even my GP. The burning, throat issues and anxiety around food made me feel so isolated. Whenever I went out with my husband or daughter, I would have to eat separately. I felt angry because no one understood what I was going through.

You were the first person who made me feel truly understood. Now I have a clear structure, and I love the progress and clarity you have brought me. I still follow my plan and don’t eat anything and everything, but I can finally go out and feel like a normal person again. For the first time, I see happiness again.ā€

For more than 10 years Amrita dealt with GERD and all the symptoms that come with it…

Heartburn, throat issues, chest pain, and feeling irritated or angry all the time!

This won’t be fixed by PPIs like Pan 40 or omeprazole.

They can obviously help prevent the damage caused by acid, but they fix nothing. They don’t stop the reflux. They can’t help you do anything other than that one thing.

Amrita’s healing took her more than 90 days, and here’s how we did it:

- A diet tailored to her unique needs, with supplements only added when even healthy whole foods triggered her symptoms.

- Increased metabolism through strength training and prioritising more easy to digest protein.

- Fiber was a challenge as she would get bloated, but we introduced it slowly over many Zoom calls.

- Better mental health through increased awareness and letting go of her reactive self.

- Better sleep by prioritising morning cortisol and a personalised 30minute sleep routine.

You can’t expect to do everything that slowly damages your body and not have these issues. It takes years to get here, and you need to accept that it will take at least a few months to learn about the patterns that damage you and be willing to change them.

~3% of my clients don’t actually listen to me and expect fast results. And they don’t get results like this.

If that’s you, I can’t help you.

But if you are willing to learn and especially willing to ā€œunlearnā€

ā€œMy throat clearing won’t stop.ā€

Only God knows how many times I said that to doctors.

I got everything done… CT scans, MRIs, endoscopies… multiple times.

And all I got back was:

ā€œAcid reflux. GERD. LPR.ā€

ā€œOkay… but what’s the solution?ā€ I asked.

ā€œTake PPIs and eat healthy.ā€

I was already doing both.

And it took me years to realize that none of those truly fix the throat symptoms like:

- Lump or mucus stuck in the throat
- Constant throat clearing
- Burning or irritation
- Voice changes
- Chronic dry cough
- Symptoms worsening after meals or lying down
- Difficulty swallowing food or liquids
- Breathing discomfort at night

The last one scared me the most.

I genuinely thought I’d choke in my sleep and die… and no one would be able to help me.

That fear slowly turned into severe health anxiety and thanatophobia…

Soon I started panicking over every sensation in my body.

And the worst part?

Most people around me thought I was overreacting.

But eventually I realized…

Only proper understanding of the issue was going to help me.

After years of studying, certifications, and obsessively trying to fix myself, I finally understood what was happening.

I was dealing with LPR… laryngopharyngeal reflux.

Unlike classic GERD, reflux here reaches the throat and voice box.

That’s why symptoms look different.

And PPIs alone often aren’t enough… because it’s not just about acid.

Pepsin, inflammation, weak reflux barriers, pressure patterns, poor motility, nervous system dysfunction… all play a role.

I worked aggressively on every single one of those.

And now I help my clients do the same.

But there was one specific recipe that instantly reduced my throat symptoms by almost 90%.

And it’s something I now ask almost all my clients with throat symptoms to use as well.

I’ll mention the detailed recipe in the pinned comment.

But consistency matters.

And honestly… most people need to tweak it a little before it truly works for them.

That’s something I learned after helping 350+ people with similar issues. Every case is slightly different.

My grandmother told me this heartburn hack YEARS ago.

I ignored it.

Then I finally looked into WHY it could work… and started using a more structured version with myself and some of my clients.

One client literally told me yesterday:

ā€œMy doctor said I’d need Omeprazole forever, +Tums whenever the burning came back… but I barely need that anymore.ā€

His symptom pattern looked almost exactly like mine:

šŸ”„ Burning in the stomach

šŸ”„ Sometimes rising into the chest/esophagus

šŸ”„ Bloating + indigestion

šŸ”„ Burning after food OR when getting hungry

And that last part matters.

Because burning after meals and burning on an empty stomach aren’t always approached the same way.

If your burning happens after meals, start with the boring stuff FIRST:

- Chew much slower
- Don’t rush while eating
- Do 1–2 minutes of slow breathing before meals
- Walk gently afterward
- Figure out which foods consistently cause bloating/indigestion

Once that part is handled, here’s the grandmother hack šŸ‘‡

Fennel + ginger + chamomile.

Simple ingredients… but timing matters.

For some people, just chewing a small amount of fennel seeds after meals can help with digestion, bloating, and that heavy feeling.

If evenings are worse and anxiety/stress tends to come with the symptoms, use a warm drink made with:

Fennel + a SMALL amount of ginger + chamomile.

Go slow with ginger because too much can irritate some sensitive stomachs.

I suggest my clients to have it 1–2 hours after dinner, not immediately after a huge meal.

And if your symptoms happen mainly on an empty stomach or first thing in the morning, I would NOT automatically use the exact same routine.

That’s where customization matters.

I’ve put the exact preparation + the different ways I use it in the pinned comment because I’m running out of space šŸ‘‡

And I also made a separate free strategy for burning + heartburn that’s even easier to follow.

This fixed my severe acid reflux šŸ‘‡

And I’m not talking about temporary relief.

It actually solved it.

- The nighttime heartburn that kept me awake.
- The morning throat burn.
- The random chest pain at night that would wake me up in panic.

To a point where I genuinely felt cured.

So what is it? šŸ¤”

How does it work?

And what are the precautions… because yes, long term use isn’t recommended.

I’ll be honest 🫔

I got addicted to this solution.

If the bottle ran out and I didn’t have a backup, my anxiety would spike.

That’s how much I relied on it.

Here’s how it actually works šŸ‘‡

- It works by tightening one key sphincter muscle (LES)
- Think of it like a valve at the top of your stomach that’s supposed to stay closed and prevent reflux, heartburn, and throat issues.
- In people without reflux, this happens naturally.
- In GERD, LPR, and acid reflux sufferers, this mechanism gets disrupted.

When you add alginates like Gaviscon or reflux raft formulas, it works even better.

And if anxiety is what keeps you up at night, adding L theanine can help calm the nervous system too.

Now the good news!!

There’s also a 100 percent natural, non addictive alternative that works in the exact same way.

It’s surprisingly effective, and it’s where I start most of my clients instead of the more aggressive option.

šŸ™Œ I break down the full protocol in a free training I just published.

- The actual supplement.
- Exact dosages.
- Smart add ons.
- And the natural alternatives.

I tried summarizing it here, but honestly…

That’s risky 🚨

This protocol needs proper structure to work safely and effectively.

I’ve tested this on both men and women.

All 270+ of my clients follow this approach and have seen significant relief from acid reflux, GERD, and LPR symptoms…

- Heartburn.
- Chest pain.
- Anxiety.
- Overthinking.
- Throat burn.
- Sore throat.
- Dry cough.

My worst nightmares were coming true.

50+ doctors

Over $10,000 spent on tests, visits, scans, endoscopies…

And all I kept hearing was:

ā€œLet’s try a different PPI.ā€

ā€œLet’s increase it to 40mg twice a day.ā€

ā€œJust stop stressing… it’s in your head.ā€

ā€œWhy are you eating junk?ā€

I wasn’t.

I was eating bland, boiled food every single day šŸ˜‘

Yet my reflux kept getting worse.

Then came the diagnosis:

Barrett’s esophagus.

A condition where the lining of the lower esophagus changes after long-term reflux, and yes… it can increase the risk of esophageal cancer.

That completely destroyed my mental health.

Every symptom felt dangerous.

Every flare-up triggered fear.

At one point, even water seemed to trigger my reflux 🄲

And that’s when I finally understood something important:

Reflux doesn’t automatically stop just because you reduce stomach acid.

PPIs can reduce acid exposure and help damaged tissue heal, but they don’t necessarily stop the actual reflux event.

Alginates can help create a physical barrier too… but again, they don’t fix every reason reflux is happening.

And yes, even the way you drink water can matter.

Things I started avoiding:

• Drinking huge amounts with meals
• Chugging water all at once
• Filling an already full stomach with more volume

Because more stomach volume can temporarily increase pressure and make reflux easier in some people.

But here’s the bigger issue…

Most people keep chasing the symptom and never look at the pattern behind it.

And for me, one of the biggest missing pieces was my nervous system.

I was constantly anxious, overthinking, rushing, panicking about symptoms, and basically living in fight-or-flight mode.

Once I started working on that properly, everything began changing.

Recently, one of my clients made the same shift.

Her reflux reduced drastically.

Her stress and anxiety settled.

And she finally started feeling like herself again.

That’s why I created a 100% free training on the nervous-system work I use for reflux and gut symptoms.

I struggled for YEARS before I finally figured out what foods would actually work for me.

I was going from doctor to doctor, trying pill after pill… still wondering why nothing was changing 🄲

I had seen 50+ doctors, yet one of the biggest pieces was barely addressed properly:

My everyday diet.

Once I stopped treating food like an afterthought and started building my diet around digestion, tolerance, and nutrient density, things finally started moving in the right direction.

But here’s where people mess this up šŸ‘‡

They hear ā€œzincā€ → eat tons of red meat.

They hear ā€œmagnesiumā€ → load up on beans and legumes.

They hear ā€œfiberā€ → start eating giant raw salads.

Nutritionally impressive?

Sure.

Easy on an already irritated digestive system?

Not always.

So I built my repeat-food list around 2 things:

1. Nutrient density → protein, choline, zinc, magnesium, potassium, B vitamins, healthy fats, fiber, and amino acids your body needs.

2. Digestibility → foods I can actually tolerate and build into a reflux-friendly diet.

My 25 šŸ‘‡

1. Eggs
2. Chicken
3. White fish
4. Greek yogurt
5. Lactose-free milk
6. Oats
7. White rice
8. Potatoes
9. Sweet potatoes
10. Bananas
11. Papaya
12. Melon
13. Blueberries
14. Carrots
15. Zucchini
16. Cucumber
17. Spinach
18. Pumpkin
19. Red bell pepper
20. Chia seeds
21. Ground flaxseed
22. Pumpkin seeds
23. Brazil nuts
24. Ginger
25. Psyllium husk

You do NOT need to eat all 25.

You need to figure out what YOUR body tolerates, cover your nutritional bases, and build a diet you can actually sustain.

And no… these foods alone won’t magically make reflux disappear.

Portions, meal timing, digestion, stress, sleep, food intolerances, and your individual triggers still matter.

And this is where the real lifestyle work comes in.

I made a full video breaking down the habits that actually matter for reflux… the same things doctors often mention quickly, but rarely explain in enough detail for you to actually apply.

Acid reflux? LPR? GERD?

Or do your flare-ups make you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or like your body is constantly on edge 🄲

Before doing anything else…

Try 7 rounds of this.

It’s a simple 3-6 breathing pattern designed to help your body shift out of that ā€œeverything is wrongā€ state.

The extended exhale + pursed-lip breathing can help slow your breathing, reduce arousal, and support a calmer nervous-system state.

It’s not magic.

But it’s one of the fastest tools I use when symptoms start making the body panic.

What you might notice within 2-3 minutes šŸ‘‡

1. Easier to calm down or fall asleep

A longer exhale can help your body downshift instead of staying stuck in fight-or-flight mode.

2. Symptoms may feel less intense

When you’re panicking, breathing often becomes faster and shallower.

Slowing it down can reduce that ā€œtight, urgent, everything is getting worseā€ feeling and may help you stop feeding the symptom-anxiety loop.

3. Less anxiety

You’re giving your nervous system a simple signal that it doesn’t need to stay in full alert mode.

Do it with me for 7 rounds:

Inhale for 2-3 seconds through your nose
→ Exhale for 4-6 seconds through pursed lips

Keep it gentle.

Don’t force huge breaths.

The goal is slower, calmer breathing… not taking in as much air as possible.

Save this for your next flare-up and share it with someone who could benefit.

And if you want the full nervous-system training I use to help people improve the gut + symptom cycle…

šŸ’¬ Comment ā€œTESTSā€ and I’ll send you the full blood-test list I use to look for nutrient deficiencies and other issues that may matter during #acidreflux / #lpr / #gerd recovery.

Doctors usually ask you to take Omeprazole, PPIs, antacids, and other medications to manage reflux.

But has anyone actually looked closely at your blood tests?

Because this matters more than most people think.

After years of taking Omeprazole myself, I ended up deficient in multiple nutrients, including B12, magnesium, iron, and more 🄲

And even if you haven’t been on PPIs for years, deficiencies in certain nutrients can affect normal muscle + nerve function, which may also play a role in how your Lower Esophageal Sphincter (LES) functions.

And your LES is one of the main barriers helping stop stomach contents from flowing back up.

Some of the nutrients I look at include:

⚔ Magnesium
⚔ Vitamin D
⚔ B12
⚔ Zinc
⚔ Protein

But there are more worth paying attention to, including B1, B6, choline, iron, and vitamin C.

And here’s the paradox šŸ‘‡

Long-term PPI use can make certain nutrient deficiencies more likely in some people.

But that does NOT mean you should randomly start taking every supplement on this list.

That can easily backfire.

Iron can irritate the gut in some people.

Vitamin C can worsen burning or discomfort depending on the form and dose.

And if your digestive system is already sensitive, throwing 8 supplements at it at once makes it almost impossible to know what’s helping and what’s making things worse.

That’s why I prefer a slower approach:

Test → identify what’s actually low → correct it gradually → monitor symptoms → adjust.

That’s also exactly what I help my clients with.

I’ve put together a full list of blood tests that can help identify these deficiencies and other potential issues worth investigating during your reflux recovery journey.

ā€œI never thought adding ONE vitamin would make this much difference to my reflux.ā€

That’s what one of my clients told me last week.

And honestly… it sent me down a deeper rabbit hole!

Before testing, I already suspected something was off.

He was eating mostly vegan/vegetarian, had bloating, nausea, constipation, poor digestion, and reflux… but he also reacted badly to random supplements.

So instead of throwing a B-complex at him, I asked him to test specific B vitamins:

- B12.
- B6.
- And B1.

His B1 came back substantially low.

And suddenly, a lot started making sense.

B1 is important for normal nerve function, energy metabolism, and digestive motility.

And when nerve signaling + motility aren’t working properly, you can end up with slower digestion, bloating, constipation, and more pressure inside the abdomen.

More pressure below the stomach can mean more pressure against the lower esophageal sphincter (LES)… the valve that’s supposed to keep stomach contents DOWN.

He was also dealing with nausea, which fit the overall digestive pattern we were seeing.

So we started correcting his B1 VERY slowly.

The form we used was benfotiamine, a fat-soluble derivative of B1.

We started around 50mg because he was extremely sensitive.

Then slowly worked toward around 200mg over the following months.

And B1 wasn’t the only thing we changed.

We also worked on his diet, meal patterns, digestion, nervous system, and the other nutritional gaps we found.

That’s when the real progress happened.

- His bloating reduced.
- Digestion improved.
- Nausea improved.
- And his reflux started becoming much easier to control.

But here’s the bigger lesson:

Sometimes reflux isn’t just about ā€œtoo much acid.ā€

You also have to look at what’s affecting the LES, nerve signaling, digestion, and pressure underneath it.

That’s actually what my full free training is about.

I show you how I approach strengthening the LES and supporting the entire anti-reflux barrier instead of only trying to suppress acid.

Want it?

Here’s the reason šŸ‘‡

Omeprazole reduces the amount of acid your stomach produces.

That can be useful when acid is irritating an already inflamed esophagus.

But reducing acid doesn’t necessarily stop the actual reflux event from happening.

I learned that the hard way.

Even on high-dose Omeprazole, I was still getting heartburn throughout the day.

Then came more problems…

Bloating. Indigestion. Feeling heavy after meals. Weight gain.

And somehow my Acid Reflux (GERD) kept getting worse.

Doctors wanted to increase my Omeprazole from 40mg in the morning → 40mg twice a day.

I was frustrated and constantly in pain.

So instead of only asking:

ā€œWhat pill should I take?ā€

I started asking 2 different questions.

1. WHEN are my symptoms happening?

For me, it was usually around 30 minutes after eating.

And the crazy part?

I was barely eating anything.

Rice. Chicken. Bland ā€œsafeā€ foods.

Symptoms would also hit when I was rushing, stressed, eating quickly, working while eating, or constantly worrying about reflux.

That gave me an important clue:

2. WHY could those patterns be happening?

First, my ā€œsafe dietā€ wasn’t necessarily a complete diet.

Rice + chicken may feel safe temporarily, but living on a tiny list of foods can leave you short on fiber, healthy fats, micronutrients, and food variety.

I know why we do it.

You eat something → symptoms happen → you remove it.

Then another food.

Then another.

Until suddenly you’re scared of everything.

Another problem was my ā€œalways in a rushā€ mode.

I was constantly stressed, overthinking, rushing, and waiting for symptoms to happen.

Eventually, even thinking about the symptoms could start the cycle.

That’s when I started taking the nervous-system side seriously.

That became one of the biggest pieces of my recovery.

I put together the simple breathing routine I started with.

Comment ā€œBreatheā€ to grab the quick guide.

It only takes 5 minutes a day. by @gutregeneration
