I’m back to work this week after 3 months off and it’s been a hoot , too nice really, and consequently things could be tough 🤪
Elements of me will be pleased, and I only have 6-9 months to go, so suspect I can hang in there. 😂

Throwback of just a few days and a mooch through Stamford with the first born ….🎉

A beautiful, old, medieval, primarily Limestone town, which sits invisibly by the A1 as most speed past.

It’s listed in the doomsday book as Stanford I believe, and became rich through the wool trade in the Middle Ages.
Its trade magnified by it sitting on ‘the great north road (A1) linking London, York and Edinburgh, it still has fine old ‘coaching houses’ / Inns that supported trade and drovers.

Today filled with plenty of independent shops , the usual national outlets, and with lots of cafes , pubs and restaurants to eat in 🎉

It has over 600 listed buildings 🤪

It smells very affluent with its private school and leisurely pace, which maybe purely illusion but suspect not, which isn’t a crime by the way 😂

Didn’t have time to visit the impressive looking Burghley house , home of Lord Cecil , chancellor to Elizabeth 1 , good excuse to go back 👍
