In our mid-forties and still getting as hyped about live music as we were when we first met.
Liza and I have shared so many unforgettable shows over the years, Stevie Wonder, Beyoncé, Lenny Kravitz, Kendrick Lamar and Hiatus Kaiyote, among other. Last night we flew to Copenhagen just to catch the incredible Yebba. It was pure magic, and I'm so happy to add another incredible night to our books. taken in VEGA by @guysion

Last days at the workshop before taking a well-deserved summer break!
It’s been a season of many late nights and early mornings at the bench, and I’m looking forward to some downtime. A huge thank you to everyone who trusted me with their horns this year, it is a privilege to keep your instruments playing their best.

Seeing everyone share their love, gratitude, and sorrow for the great Sonny Rollins makes me want to share how he deeply affected my own life.

Like so many of us, I’ve learned his solos, sang along with his albums, and I still play his compositions every chance I get. I even had the immense privilege of hearing him play live in concert at Central Park, an experience I’ll never forget.
But the way he inspired me most goes back to a specific time and place. Between 2006 and 2010, Liza and I lived in Brooklyn. Whenever the weather allowed, I used to walk up to the Williamsburg Bridge at night to practice. For me, just walking out there, stopping right in the middle between Manhattan and Brooklyn, and playing for a few hours was as close to his legacy as I needed to be.
Here’s a shot of me back then, finding my own space on the bridge. Rest in peace, Sonny. Thank you for everything. 🎷❤️
