Don’t let the San Jose City Council take back its commitment to build more housing tomorrow! Tuesday August 18th, Item 10.3 will decide whether or not to implement a housing program that will build denser housing around San Jose. Don’t let our leaders keep kicking the can down the road while we all experience the #housingcrisis in America’s most expensive city. Write and speak in support of the memo by Councilmembers Tordillos (@tordillosd3) and Kamei (@sjdistrict1) to help make our city a more affordable place to live.

10 years of being married to @anthony.sjc ✅ and still going strong (despite more elections than anticipated a decade ago 😜) We met when we were just baby gays, and look at how far we’ve come! Excited to see what the next 10 years and beyond has in store for us 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨 by @gveazy

My Nonno, the original Giovanni Forcina, passed away yesterday peacefully. He was 95. Born in Italy, he survived WWII and met my Nonna. They were married for over 70 years and had 6 children. The family moved to New York when my dad was a young teenager in search for a better life. Like many immigrants, he worked incredibly hard to provide opportunity for his family. Shortly before I was born, my parents and grandparents moved to Florida to raise me in Naples. I was spoiled, I got to live just a few houses down from both sets of my grandparents. They opened a small Italian restaurant, the best there ever was in Naples, making the dishes they grew up with for everyone to enjoy. That restaurant was like a second home when I was growing up. I was there everyday after school and my grandpa would always sneak me treats and let me have whatever I wanted. I used to ask him to make me pizza with no sauce and green olives. A strange choice by all metrics that only the two of us enjoyed to eat. It’s because of the opportunity that my grandparents and family worked hard to give me that I could go on to be the first in my family to go to college and then to grad school. When they left Italy all those years ago, they set out on a path to make life for their family better, and they accomplished that. Nonno was away from Nonna in a rehab when he passed. When my family told my grandma she said that she knew because she saw him in her dreams that night. With over 70 years of marriage, I believe that. My family thinks I look a lot like my grandpa did when he was young. I hope I can have as much impact on people’s lives. Nonno, I miss you and I am so thankful for the sacrifices you made for me. I love you and hope you get to say hi to Dad up there. by @gveazy
