What a way to close out our final grant cycle of 2026!

Last night, the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund celebrated its final grant check presentation of the year, awarding $34,500 to 11 nonprofit organizations following a record-breaking 60 applications!

These grants will support an incredible range of community needs, from youth mental health programs and robotics opportunities to providing beds for children who donโ€™t have one, essential supplies for families, and resources for foster parents.

Funding will also help bring public art to downtown Livermore, expand community gardening opportunities, improve facilities and infrastructure, and support the well-being of frontline nonprofit staff who work with individuals experiencing trauma every day.

Each of these projects reflects the creativity, compassion, and dedication of the nonprofits working to strengthen our communities.

The record number of applications also reminds us just how much important work is happening across our region, and how critical continued investment in our nonprofit sector remains.

Congratulations to all 11 grant recipients! We canโ€™t wait to see the impact of these projects and are grateful to play a part in bringing them to life.

When passion for healing extends far beyond the lab and clinic! ๐Ÿ’šโœจ

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible team from Taiho Oncology! Working hand-in-hand with one of our skilled neighbors, the Taiho team helped us lay down weed barrier across the Village to keep our grounds maintained and welcoming.

If that wasn't enough, these sweet ladies even forfeited their lunch break to purchase and donate a bunch of much-needed supplies for our Village community!

We are so deeply honored that a team dedicated every day to cancer research and caring for cancer patients chose to bring that same heart, compassion, and energy to our neighbors. by @gvlivermore

The Safety Training Final Boss.

Shaunette, our Housing Manager & Safety Coordinator, put our team through an epic, all-day Safety Training! We played Safety Jeopardy, practiced with fire extinguishers, mapped emergency shut-offs, and ran full Village drills.

When our staff feels confident, our neighbors stay safe. Thanks to Shaunetteโ€™s work, our team is equipped to handle any crisis with the skill and compassion our community deserves. ๐Ÿ’ช

Huge love and gratitude to Community Presbyterian Church (CPC) in Danville for choosing Goodness Village during their annual Serve Day! CPC literally shuts down their church for two days so their congregation can go out and serve local organizations across the community.

For their second Serve Day with us, their incredible volunteers tackled some massive projects around the Village:
๐ŸŽจ Sanded and repainted our ADA ramps
๐Ÿงผ Power washed the Community Center exterior walls
๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ Repainted all the trim fresh white
๐ŸชŸ Recaulked all the window gaps to keep our spaces sealed & cozy

It was amazing seeing kids working right alongside their parents, learning the power of serving others. Thank you, CPC Danville. You left our Village shining! by @gvlivermore

Preventing homelessness and supporting people through housing instability take affordable housing, trauma-informed care, and sustained community investment.

Todayโ€™s Tri-Valley Antipoverty Collaborative event, โ€œHouse of Cards,โ€ brought together partners working across those needs.

Dr. Amy Cole-Bloom shared progress and challenges in Alameda Countyโ€™s homelessness response. Supervisor Candace Andersen moderated a panel featuring Christine Beitsch-Bahmani of CityServe, Darin Lourds of Housing Consortium of the East Bay, Dr. Kim Curtis of Goodness Village, and Paida Ndemera of Trinity Center.

Shelly Haynes of the City of Livermore and Vasko Yorgov of Eden Housing also highlighted the partnership and perseverance behind affordable housing development in downtown Livermore.

The conversation underscored the importance of helping people before they lose housing and providing trauma-informed care and long-term support.

Get involved in your community. Support local nonprofits. Learn about the housing decisions affecting your neighbors, and vote. Local elections help shape housing and the resources available in our communities.

Thank you to our speakers, community partners, and everyone who joined the conversation, and to Patelco Credit Union for hosting us today.
