To the truck I drove in highschool...

You were more than wheels. You were leather seats that held me through late-night drives, light bars cutting through the dark, and my dad’s stickers I never peeled away—because you carried his miles before you carried mine. You echoed laughter from friends packed shoulder to shoulder, and countless conversations about life that linger in the silence of your cab. You even hold the memory of the night my forever sat in your passenger seat and asked me to be his.

You were my escape when I needed to clear my head, and get away from the world. I slept in you when I had nowhere else to go. I had my share of teenage moments in your cab—secret kisses, long talks, tears, and nights I stayed out driving later than I probably should have. With you, I drifted through fresh snow in empty parking lots, popped a few tires, ran out of gas, and still found my way to places I’d never been before—or since. Through your windows I saw sunsets, dusty backroads, mountaintops, endless starry skies, and the world rolling out before me on the blacktop.

You were freedom and rebellion, peace and adventure, a dependable companion through nearly 200,000 miles of coming-of-age. “Daddy’s Money” on your plates, but you became priceless in the ways you shaped me. And I’ve never seen another one quite like you on the road.
