This was a special one. 25+ years after I first put needle to wax on a Metalheadz plate, I got the chance to open for the pioneer, the visionary, the enigma himself, Sir Goldie. Getting to watch him up close, seeing the passion ooze from every pore, even after all this time...this music we love gets inside you and never lets go. Thank you to everyone who came along, the vibe was incredible, as far from a disposable gig as you can get, we'll remember this one always. Special h/t @mrgoldie @metalheadzmusic for bringing the damage @baxtercvisuals for the photos @creamnz @ryd_r for the invite @hide.club crew for holding down the afterparty @chetty_deejay @paris_indecisive for the support by @gwarden_djs
Tonight we introduce some of our Euphoric Buzz System DJs! OG Primate, Gwarden & Boasteeze @boasteeze is addicted to the bass. Christchurch-born and bred, Boasteeze spawned from the dimly lit dance floors in the underground club scene. Her journey into the world of bass began when she started learning to mix in November 2021 while hanging out with friends and could not resist the urge to dive headfirst into the world of DJing. Boasteeze embraced the challenge and created her unique sound by weaving a mixture of her deepest, darkest 140s and bass-filled garage. Her signature blends seamlessly merge her passion for garage and dub, resulting in a truly distinctive wub experience. Tonight we introduce some of our Euphoric Buzz System DJs! OG Primate, Gwarden & Boasteeze OG Primate Feeling the pulse of DnB since the aughties, attending classic Christchurch gigs and eventually picking up the decks to spin his own brand of tough, weird, funky tunes. Since winning a wildcard comp to play Solidarity Festival in 2024 he’s gone on to support Mampi Swift and has his very own rave cave for hosting friends and family alike. Where’d you get your DJ name? “It was going to be N-Tre after my name Nick Trewavas, but I decided to go with a play on my nickname Boon so Primate was born. Then a muppet from the Netherlands stole my name and started making Lego-style bootlegs that kids apparently enjoyed, so I changed to OG. “ Tune I’m vibing with: SKC & Bratwa - ‘Heart Of Love’ (Loxy & Ink Remix) Favorite gig: Klute - Emperors new clothes album release @ Ministry (2007) Tonight we introduce some of our Euphoric Buzz System DJs! OG Primate, Gwarden & Boasteeze @gwarden_djs Ever since watching his flatmate mix Renegade Hardware EPs in the late 90s on wonky belt-drive turntables, Gwarden has been transfixed by the possibilities of Drum & Bass. Whether dark, atmospheric and twisted, or soaring, sexy and soulful, his sets utilise the entire palette of sounds and feelings to make even the most hardened raver shake their booty. Gwarden has played support for heavyweight junglists like Goldie, Dillinja, Mampi Swift and DJ Hybrid, as well as hosted radio shows on PulzarFM and R by @gwarden_djs

Hard to capture in words what @hide.club has meant to me over the last 7 years - it's been pivotal to my own DJ career as well as countless others. From my nervous first locals gig to supporting international caliber artists like Goldie, Mampi Swift, DJ Hybrid and Aphrodite, it's been the hub of dance music in Ōtautahi. I've met friends, lovers, idols and everything in between here, and I couldn't be more grateful to Mitch, Sam, Savvy, Dom, Cassie, James, Mercedes, and the countless other staff who have given their time, sweat and sleepless nights so we can come together and dance our asses off. Honoured to be a part of this special sendoff alongside my brothers in arms @chetty_deejay @c_m_jnz Come dance 💗 by @gwarden_djs

Stoked to break my cherry at Synchronicity this 25th-26th of October! The amount of care and planning that goes into this event is crazy, with a wide range of music styles and non-music activities. Looking forward to ushering in the sun with a dawn set of liquid goodness. Find tickets at @cosmic_nz by @gwarden_djs
