ICYMI: Yesterday we hosted Bridging Nations, an event exploring the relationship between the US and Mexico and the contributions of Mexican Americans, in partnership with our friends at @theamlc.

Thank you to all of our incredible panelists for your insightful commentary and to our guests for engaging in such an important topic. Plus, a special shoutout to our own GW Folklórico for an amazing performance!

We are so proud of 2026 Caminos Scholar Damian Aviles who was recently featured in the news for his Community Action Project, developed during his time in the Caminos al Futuro pre-college program. Damian's project, a website that uses GIS mapping technology to visualize water resource information such as reservoir levels and utility assistance in his hometown of Corpus Christi, will allow residents to better understand the region's water supply and take appropriate action. Congratulations to the 2026 cohort of Caminos al Futuro, who presented their community action projects and graduated from the program earlier today!

We are so proud of everything these young leaders have accomplished over the past 3 weeks and cannot wait to see what the future has in store for each of them. Caminos Scholars holding diplomas by @gwcisneros

Happy 4th of July from Washington, DC! This week, Caminos Scholars explored some of the nation's core institutions, such as the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court, and the US Capitol.

On Capitol Hill, they learned more about the congressional process and even got to watch votes on the House floor. They also spoke with several representatives, including Cisneros Institute co-founder Congressman Gil Cisneros.

In the classroom, they continued to work on their community action projects with the support of Cisneros staff and affiliate faculty, learning how to turn their ideas into tangible change for communities across the country.

After working with these Scholars over the past two weeks, we are feeling especially hopeful for the future. Caminos Scholars in front of the Capitol Building by @gwcisneros
